"Whats the difference between us, we can start at the penis"
    Fack
"All the while, me and Dre have been f---ing with hats off"
    all the Ken Kaniff skits

This s--- is not new for him as an artist.. We might have matured, but he simply is this way and has always been and its a little bit weird all these peoples that thought it was funny back then are now saying they dont want to hear it.

Especially when there are tons of artists that dont have these lines to listen to.

Or maybe the problem is, is that we continuously compare his new stuff to his old stuff & I think that’s the reason why he continues to gives us bars, puns, lines that are so childish, cause we know for a fact he hasn’t matured or changed, we can see that in the lyrics

& with other artists, maybe it doesn’t work for them, or maybe they don’t do that cause they won’t get away with it like Em would, like I can’t imagine drake saying “I fart then I sniff it”, would throw people completely off.

After "Untouchable" right up to "Heat" when it picks back up... is maybe the biggest drag of any Em album.

The first four songs and how they are placed together >>>

Then, Heat, Offended >> ... f----- up by Need Me, but then In Your Head to Arose >>>> and maybe his most powerful ending to an album ever. Letting an emotional moment stand by itself without a wink, or a stupid skit or draw back moment. I loved that.

But god d--- almost everything in between.

Here’s the thing, I’m older and am married with kids. I can relate to some of the songs that people dismiss. That Bad Husband song to me really hits home.

That's true. The beginning of the album and the end are the best. There's still some good stuff in the middle, but the start and finish are the best.

Revival is a solid album though. The one MAIN thing it really had lacking was a catchy lead single. I'm used to getting his lead single in the middle of the album. This album basically has no main song.

Test out this tracklist as a listen, it's much better:

    1. Walk on Water
    2. Believe
    3. Chloraseptic
    4. Untouchable
    5. Heat
    6. Offended
    7. Revival Interlude
    8. Like Home
    9. In Your Head
    10. Castle
    11. Arose

Short classic. All the pointless, pandering crap which was crammed in between... *facepalm, Em, what are you doing man*. That cover should be him facepalming the tracklist.

Getting so old of hearing people say that. Hip hop is no more dead or alive than it was a decade ago. Every genre of music changes. The style the sound the trend all of it.

I bet your parents like the music they grew up on, I bet your grandparents like the music they grew up on, I bet you like the music you grew up on. And I bet your kids will like the music they grow up on.

This bad on purpose s--- needs to stop. If it's bad on purpose then the music is bad. If he is trying to make bad music and success why defend it?

Those are not s-----y dad jokes/puns, they're just straight forward lines, which already makes them better. And the Dre line is actually funny considering how homophobic his music was at that point. Humor comes from the unexpected, it was hilarious hearing that s--- first listen

It's really not just the beats though. It's just as much his delivery and flow. All of it together leaves no redeeming qualities sonically. I'm not sure why people are only talking about the beats in this thread when he doesn't even flow over them properly anyway. The delivery is nasally, annoying, shouty.... and just overall terrible as well.

Rap has not evolved. It has turned into people repeating the same 4 bars for a verse and repeating the same 2 words for hooks. I do not want any lyricists trying to "evolve" with the times in terms of their approach to an album. In fact these little dweebs that think they are rapping can all f--- off and k--- themselves and the world would be a better place for it.

Edit: Rap is in a de-evolution phase, at least mainstream.
