Dec 19, 2017 Read this on the train on the way home... Very fair and on-point review for once. But, they no doubt looked at this critically, properly for once because Em showing his true political colours and dissing Trump for trying to ban transgenders etc. - but then they go on to mention the 'agree with Donald line' like "joking??". Which just proves what I've always seen with them - that they've struggled to comprehend sarcasm and character-play, and irony, for like 20 years lol. Because they continued to think he's actually homophobic and would let that emotion of confusing Eminem the artist with Eminem the person drive their reviews. The fact they're confused by the Donald line like "Joking!?!"... Yes you fucktards. How hard is it to grasp, jesus. All their other reviews of like 1/10 n s--- lmao are ridiculous and you can see thier emotion driving the review. This one was on-point.
Dec 19, 2017 "Rubin’s contributions are particularly embarrassing; his re-hash of hits from the Rush/Def Jam days (“Heat,” “Remind Me”) suggest he’s completely out of ideas."
Dec 19, 2017 Pretty much on point. Though his daughter(s) are a subject that he has beaten into the ground on many occasions, they seem to be the only thing saving this album from being completely garbage cause the last three songs (In Your Head, Castle & Arose) are all pretty good songs IMO. I also like the Ed Sheeran track. Other than that, the rest of the album falls pretty f---in' flat. But at the same time I keep finding myself thinking about the very first sentence on this album... "Why are expectations so high?" If it were any other rapper who had been disappointing me for fourteen years, I wouldn't give them so many chances, I'm certain lol. Anyway, back to the topic, this is a fire review. Very well written.
Dec 19, 2017 pitchfork reviews are trash why people still care what pitchfork thinks but yeah I don't think the album is good
Dec 19, 2017 d--- I expected them to absolutely obliterate this album and give it a 1.7 or something. Great review tbh. this is the first time in a while for Pitchfork where they didnt come off as bitter ex-stans.
Dec 19, 2017 Score a little too high but really good review, glad they s--- on this awful album intelligently without coming off as haters.
Dec 19, 2017 speaking of which, rolling stone gotta rereview that 3.5 stars in a couple months..just a bit generous
