Dec 19, 2017 I came out of lurking for a moment to say I think this has a lot to do with it. I mean fans were pretty much treated like dirt this entire rollout. The stupid DJ Ceaser thing with no apology from his camp, the fake release date, that trolling interview on the fake release date basically laughing at everyone for thinking an album was going to be released that day. The references to "Stan" that never meant anything in regards to the album. Em basically telling us we are annoying as Stan to him. Guess Stan just drove his car into the lake before buying the album. JMO Kinda sad in a way because I do like the album. I just felt underappreciated for being a fan this roll out.
Dec 19, 2017 I'll say not being active for 4 years. Nobody cares about south paw movie or that bodied tv show so he cant use that as being busy. Not even the shady 15 album is worth a listen. Exclude that from the 4 years, and he's been shut off completely, which is what fans truly feel. The album rollout was great at first; keep the medicine theme alive. More promotion of it and more hints with new music would've been great. The website is what f----- em and paul in the a---. You could do magic with a .com domain. A website could've been everything for this promotion while still making money off it. They could've used it for new hints, new music samples, and album tracklist and cover. Everything would've been on that website after it was teased all over social media. The guys completely forgot about it and left it to rot. Eventually they'll take it down once it ends. Imagine putting out new video on it with new music on the background. or the tracklist with the same theme - that dr note or even the colors of it. Or maybe a video of dr dre in a dark room, in a shadow prescribing new "medicine" for em. It could've been great and I thought that's what they were going to do. Something or someone changed the course of it. I truly believe em changed the whole theme of the album as a late scratch, hence pushing the album back til december. If they would've kept the theme and release date in november, this album would've been a huge success. I think there are songs where he quickly just made to fit a new theme of "speaking to everybody". and I call that bs by the way. Was that Marshall himself or Paul, Interscope, or even government not allowing him to continue because it was right on point.?
Dec 19, 2017 according to early reports, maybe 150 k of actual cd sales and another 100k of streams. . the lowest ever was relapse with 600k full sales.
Dec 19, 2017 Worst album roll out of all time. What an absolute disaster that was. Paul should be fired for this. Or send him to North Korea to be executed.
Dec 19, 2017 Nothing to do with what he did the last few releases. There are many factors. Hard to pinpoint which is the biggest one.
Dec 19, 2017 Seriusly people is tired of pop rap. In those years before and after recovery every rapper was triying emulate the formula of pop hook + verse. Its not cool anymore and people are really tired.
Dec 19, 2017 2 reasons. 1) Because it's just not that good. 2) The singles he released didn't capture the general public's attention for more than a 24 hour window.
Dec 19, 2017 I think probably the main reason is his single choices, there could of been a better first and second single to draw a bigger audience
Dec 19, 2017 1. Tried to have a ‘clever’ rollout with the Trevor/drug s--- instead of one that actually promotes the album/gets the word out. 2. Lost some fans after the Trump diss, lost other fans over the past 15 years due to directions he’s gone. 3. Bad choice for first single+no video. 4. Bad choice for 2nd single(or whatever untouchable is)+no video. 5. s-----y pop features hardly anyone in his fan base would care about. Pink and Skylar? Lol. 6. An album that’s all over the place and quite frankly.... 7. Pretty s-----y. 8. Hardly any promotion for the album, plus not finding out about the release date far in advance. 9. Em’s best days are behind him, like way behind him and a lot of casual rap fans and younger rap fans don’t care bout him anymore or never did depending on their age and situation.
Dec 19, 2017 it flopped cause Eminem is gay http://www.news.com.au/entertainmen...s/news-story/63c0c6de5e794f5f423339a115c27d28
Dec 20, 2017 I liked this album. But this f---ing rollout was literally a spit in the face of his hardcore fanbase, like all of us here. -.-
