You going to disagree that he picked up some pretty bad rhyming habits over the years? Yes, he can rhyme a.hundred different ways. Arose and castle show he can still rhyme normal if he chooses. For whatever reason, he decides to rhyme in that generic a--- shadxv flow, scream randomly at end of lines, or just scream a whole song off beat. Uses terrible metaphors now to rap.
"I don't want to resort to violence of my sort, but what's she shoving me for, doesn't she love me no more, wasn't she hugging me four minutes ago at the door, man I'm this close to going toe to toe with this whor-"

Never did he rhyme with metaphors before, and if he did it was very subtle and not explained in the next line.
"Walking through south central La bleeding in jeans"

Now he does this with almost every other line.
"Big ole t-ts, you can hang me on that rack"

He's not programmed one way or the other. There are producers and managment for a reason. He just happens to pick really s-----y ones that don't know how to use his strengths and he constantly listens to bad advice. Eminem clearly needs help with content and has no one worthwhile willing to actually help him.

I think it was just a different session. Like, the rewind idea came later.

He can sound like that if he wants. There's a part in arose (100% recent) where he sounds like himself on My Darling.

"It's about to be 2008, how's this happening now??" // "you're lying (yo slim) AHH why now? What up Dre?"

Just my take on it tho

    Spatula Relapse is a masterpiece

Of course he's going to sound different because at that point in the song he got his motivation back. Jesus the theories people make up. But he still sounds same enough to see it was recorded close together. Not f---ing years apart.

I agree on the different session. Not saying it's an old song for certain . I'm just pointing it out again that the difference is obvious

This has been said so many times.

Refill was the best of Relapse 2 & it wasn't very good.

Who says it was the best of? In the same sense that you or I or anybody may pick a 'best of'?

We know how abysmal (MMLP2, Revival) Em's / producers involved track selection can be, based on trying to provide 'a bit of everything' and 'balance'. So just because those are the tracks Em/whoever/Paul picked doesn't mean they're the tracks out of the batch which you might like the most, or that everything else is worse.

Imagine you didn't hear MMLP2 deluxe tracks. People would be like 'well, they were the best ones'. When MMLP2 deluxe Em rapping ethers almost every main CD track rapping. He doesn't select tracks purely on how good they are.

You can even see the same kind of thinking with Refill too. Yeah you got a couple of murder / super lyrical songs... then you have the 'silly zany single thing' (Taking My Ball), the 's--- talking' song (Drop the Bomb on Em), the 'party collab track' (h--- Breaks Loose), the 'self reflective self analysis Em song' (Elevator).

So I'd say his selection means zero in terms of the track quality. He just chose a mix of song types again.

Plus there was about 60 + songs made I think in that era. So there's about two more albums worth not heard, and I'm sure they'd not put the strongest material on no.1. So I'd bet on there being a boat load of mind blowing s--- nobody will ever hear from that era.
