Revival is not better than Recovery, it's still too early to tell either. his skills set is much worse, and is using even more corny metaphors in his music, much worse than his Recovery era.

Disagree entirely. On Revival, Em isn't the problem. It's everyone else.
Recovery had a million more corny punch lines and metaphors than Revival.

This Revival vs Recovery debate absolutely blows my mind. Appreciate it for what it is. Be realistic too though. I love Revival. I love all of Eminem's albums. Is it better then Recovery though? Absolutely not haha.
Mainstream success wise - Recovery wins
Award winning - Recovery will win
Sales wise - Recovery wins
Radio play - Recovery wins
But more importantly...
Content wise - Recovery wins
Quality wise - Recovery wins
Longevity wise and replay value - Recovery wins
And for 90 - 99% true following rap critics - Recovery wins
Review wise - Recovery wins
I don't understand the Recovery hate on this forum. It's the only album in my opinion that has a DEFINITE spot on his all time list. The order is debatable but...

1/2 - Eminem Show / MMLP - Order debatable
3 - Recovery
4 - 6 - Relapse / MMLP 2 / SSLP - Order debatable - most will say SSLP 4th which is fine, but radio play wise and awards wise...you can debate, but it's in this area
7/8 - Encore / Revival - Order debateable
Recovery is his solid 3rd best though in every category. It's the only album that has it's DEFINITE ranking...No doubt.

And both Revival and Recovery have 17 tracks, if you want me to go track by track in 2 different comparisons. 1.) Worldwide appeal / success and 2.) Most real rap fans preference I can do track songs 1-17 on each I can. It will be close but I promise Recovery wins in both aspects.

With that being said...Revival is a great album. I love it. Just not better than Recovery.

Hey, I love Revival. But it's not better then Recovery.
Recovery's absolute worst songs and moments are MILES above Need Me, Tragic Endings, Heat, Remind Me, or the Offended chorus. So I just said the absolute worst of Recovery already beats out a full 20-25% of Revival's entire album.
And Not Afraid is better then Walk on Water. Love the Way You Lie is better then River. His one rap feature of No Love is better then Chloraseptic. And Space Bound will beat whatever other single Eminem chooses...if any.
Again, love Eminem's music and Revival. A great album and fun debate. But it's not better then Recovery.

Come on man. Pretty much the entirety of Won't Back Down has more cringe lines than Revival as a whole.

I'm not saying Revival doesn't have a lot of lines that are embarrassing but Recovery def has way more.
