Mar 19, 2018 It works both ways: you can distort what it means to be a great rapper so it's easy to exclude Kanye from the realm of a top 10 list. It's not like we're trying to finagle, say, Frank Ocean into a top ten rappers list. Frank raps sometimes and has made rap songs, but the majority of his music is definitely not rap even if it's hip-hop-adjacent. Kanye, on the other hand, is decidedly a rapper and makes rap music even if he's not a "rapper's rapper."
