    AF1s been around since 1982, over 20 years before that Nelly song dropped. NYC artists been rocking them all that time. I think even Dr. Dre was rocking them a lot. Nelly did not put those shoes on the map.

    Agreed about his first 2 albums .but yeah, he goes to s--- from there.
    Would be legend status right now of he left after those 2 albums but that's it.

    Nelly is a pop rapper. Same reason Flo Rida is never in conversations. It's not a lack of skill, it's just that Nelly was getting club spins while us nerds were sitting home with Nas in our headphones unpacking everything.

    His solo s--- is hit or miss for me, but Free City is quite possibly one of the most underrated albums from the 2000s and one of the most underrated group albums ever.
