Photograph is basically an updated version of Dreams, except Cole is stalking a woman on social media

This s--- alright. Could've been worse. Sounds really unbalanced tho, 2nd half of the album is much stronger. Definitely needs features to maintain the energy level and break the monotony. Props that he finally experimented with something so I won't s--- on this as I would if this sounded like he recycled The Warm Up again. But it could've been executed way better in terms of production, hooks and song arrangement. This album isn't what you would have expected from Cole, but when you listen to it it's exactly what you expected from Cole if that makes any sense. s---'s cool, nothing less, nothing more.

It’s nice to see him step out of his style a bit but it’s still mostly done with half measures.

The Fall Off sound like it's about to be The Warm Up II.

    1985 is nuts.
Album is better than I expected. Only glaring issue is the first k--- Edward hook, that s--- garb.

this is his downfall like everytime tbh. He gets s----d in to the "concept" and stops focusing on the actual music.

    Final Thoughts:

This is a very, very good project. Its a bit too early for me to officially rank it, but i'm thinking as of now...

    2014 FHD
    KOD
    Born Sinner
    4YEO
    Sideline Story

There's things I love and don't love about it. I, personally love the production. I think its absolutely great. The rapping on it is some of the best rapping i've ever heard for Cole. This kind of rapping is what put him in the conversation with Drizzy and Kdot. But g.d....some of those hooks needed a feature. Now I don't know why Cole is so adamant about using no features, but this project would benefit from some help. Miguel, J.I.D and someone like Jorja Smith would've elevated this project in my opinion. I also feel like he should've saved 1985 for later, because the contrast between Window Pain and 1985 sticks out like a sore thumb.

I'm not going to give this album an official rating because its needs to saturate. But I feel like this project is one that will sit with the fans for quite awhile like FHD did.. Good job Cole.

Absolutely, I remember on JCN some wise users once said that Cole always had great ideas but never knows how to execute them to the fullest (sometimes). A lot of these songs have fantastic moments but are let down by some details.

Overall I can't say I'm mad at the album (I always appreciate short run times), I usually catch things better on the 2nd and 3rd listen since I can tell Cole was going for an overarching theme/story in this.

This. And this happens when you have Yes Man in your crew and don't have Executive Producer on your album to supervise and give you another perspective on lyrics, hooks, beats, writing, etc. People underestimate that part but I can't remember Cole ever having someone else Executive Producing his s---. Dude too stubborn

These hooks are legit embarrassing at points. Like does he even listen to the finished product with anyone other than IB and Mez?

Yeah it seems like he’s intent on running with this no features gimmick for as long as possible but it’s holding back the final product IMO.

    1st listen it’s probably a 6 or 7 out of 10 for me.

1985 is half Cole saying “Get off my lawn” and the other half dropping knowledge
