Big Mitch You never made me ran once

My team, and not really was anyone else’s, was not good enough to beat the warriors without him. They were already a 73-9 team that inexcusably blew a 3-1 lead and KD had to go and join them after blowing his own 3-1 lead. People love to criticize LeBron for doing the “same thing” but he didn’t lose to KG, Pierce, Ray, and Rondo and go join them. That woulda been the equivalent - and a soft a--- move. KD gets no pass.

I understand why a guy like Boogie would, but that’s a complete different situation.

That’s fair but he’s still soft. As for it happening 2 years ago, see my next point.
Fans, especially casual fans, wanna see more parity in a league that is so easy to predict and when KD made that decision, it made it even more predictable. Imagine how much fun the league would be if the West was actually wide open for like 3-5 teams and same with the east. The finals would be so hard to predict.

There's never been "parity" in the NBA. Casual fans love dynasties and stars, which is what's made the league as popular as it is today

If you wanna blame someone, blame Michelle Roberts for voting against smoothing the cap which gave a 73 win team max cap space

Michelle Roberts and the player association both. But I’m a Hawks boy so i couldn’t really care for the next two years as long as we are in last

I disagree with the casual fan thing, especially after this year. This year's finals were one of the most boring finals to watch in NBA history, even most of the 'casual' fans thought that.

And yeah, Chris Paul and Lebron are also the ones to blame the cap thing.

The NBA is such a weird league if you think about it, I mean there's like 20 to 25 teams every year that have zero shot to win the championship, or even make a deep playoff run, and I'd say around 10 to 15 of those franchises basically never have any shot. Their only realistic possibility is sucking bad enough and long enough to land some high lotto picks, land a huge star and go from there..but even then that huge star will often bail once their contract is up.

Totally different in that regard than other sports, obviously there's still other 'clear favorites' in other sports but you can still have a team like the Eagles(who I think were projected middle of the pack) win it all, or in hockey they can have a d--- expansion team make the stanley cup, etc.

GS almost lost to HOU and Bron was coming off one of his best offensive seasons ever. Cavs almost took games 1 & 3. I never thought the'd win and it obviously would've been a better series with Kyrie around, but I wasn't bored until game 4

The only exception is Dallas that one year. And maybe Spurs, since those guys have been one of the top teams for so long. Usually it's all about trying to win it all if you believe your core is goo enough and once they're past their prime, you just go into tanking mode until you get some franchise players. Nowadays that's pretty much the only option, building a championship roster through free agency doesn't exist anymore, I think.

There’s never been parity if you compare it other major sports, but there’s rarely ever been a point in NBA history where one team is clear cut and center better than everyone else. The Warriors are that team because of Kevin Durant being soft. If he stays in OKC, or literally goes anywhere else, the NBA would see 4-6 teams with a legit chance at a title every year. That’s more than you can in almost a decade.

As for Michelle roberts, that ain’t all on her haha. The entire player union is responsible. They even tried to make it hard for KD to do something like this with the super max but it never mattered, nor is it really making a difference for anyone else.
what helps the nba in regards to its lack of parity is that they’ve always been great at marketing individual stars. It’s a star driven league. It’s like the only team sport where people are “LeBron” or “KD” fans rather than specific teams. It’s a good and bad thing.

Imo only that G1 was interesting, after that the outcome was pretty obvious. Though, this discussion could be endless, depending on how each of us viewed those series. I do agree though, playoffs were interesting until the finals. I feel like this year was the only chance for Rockets to take out Warriors, considering Iguodala wasn
t really playing for the majority of the series.

I actually thought they had chances with Iguodala not playing, but those thoughts immediately ended with that Paul's injury. I never had and never will have trust in Harden when it matters in the playoffs, he likes to choke quite a lot. He couldn't hit 3s against Warriors at all

4 teams maybe but anything more than that is a reach

If he's in OKC and we account for the injuries, it's GS/OKC/HOU/CLE
