Gonna give my criticism on Eminem's albums from 2004 to present, and why I consider Kamikaze his best since Eminem Show.

- Recovery is 5/10 for me.

IMO Space Bound and Going Through Changes aren't good enough to really save that album from the lows. Recovery is littered with so much filler trash that I can't rate the album very well.

- Relapse, Encore and Revival are like 1's or 2's. Castle and Deja Vu are two of my favorite songs from Eminem in any era, and they do not save those albums.

Encore/Revival are hands down his worst albums though, and I don't understand how anyone can defend Encore. Biggest embarrassment of Eminem's career. I don't care how good some of the songs are, when f---ing garbage like a--- Like That, Big Weenie, Just Lose It, My First Single and Rain Man are on that album lol.

- MMLP2 is boring but probably a 3.5(it's pretty consistent throughout, just painfully boring/average).

Here's my quick breakdown of Kamikaze though.

- The Ringer and Fall might be my favorite Eminem songs since Deja Vu. These are 10s for me.

- Eminem's verse on Lucky You is incredible. I love the self reflection at the beginning of it. Joyner was good too. I'd probably rate it a 9.

- Greatest and Kamikaze are personal favorite songs for me (some people say they hate the choruses, but I actually like them). I totally understand how people don't like either song though. 8.5 for both

- Stepping Stone could've been a perfect song, but I hated the chorus. It kinda throws me off. But, my God, I love Eminem's verses. It's straight out of Eminem Show. I'd rate it 8, but those verses/flow are f---ing flawless.

- Not Alike is a good song too, I like the disses by Eminem, Royce was solid on it too... IDK why but I find the Migos chorus to be kinda.... weird? IDK why but I'm not really feeling that aspect of the song, but Em dissing MGK was solid, and it seemed personal for him from a father standpoint. Out of all the disses, it was probably the easiest target, but the most understanding target, in my opinion. I'd probably rate it a 7.

- Venom is a solid song, but out of all of the songs that I like, I just feel like Eminem is kind of on autopilot in it (which is OK, but it didn't have the same punch/focus as the other songs). Probably another 7 for me.

Now to the songs I dislike or are not into:

- Normal and Good Guy are OK songs, but I just don't feel them. Both of them kind of threw me off when I re-listened. They didn't interest me much.

Both seem like the same fake domestic violence type songs. The best song he ever did with that subject is f---ing Love You More. He needs to stop it.

His flows are actually really good on these songs though. I didn't think he was capable of sounding smooth again, so that's a plus.

They're both probably 5's. I just don't think they belong on the album and are kinda repetitive from past attempts of the same content.

- Nice Guy.... I really am not feeling this. I'd probably rate it a 1, because I don't see me ever listening to this again.

- I RARELY like skits, so yeah, the skits can f--- off.

I'd rate the album probably 6.5 to 7.5. I have a feeling I'm gonna rate it a 7 later on.

It's hands down his 4th best album though. I don't think it's album of the year, but this was one of my favorite listening experiences, because I had ZERO confidence in Eminem before this. Kinda reminds me of listening to Nas' Stillmatic after his trash Nastradamus album (this is not Stillmatic level, just to be clear), but the listening experience was still as amazing. So thank you, Eminem.

In all seriousness it's such a shame he is blackballed.
The Kanan Mixtape is better than every Summer 2018 album combined. I'm The Man should have been a huge f---ing hit.

This album isn’t mmlp or eminem show level. But for a 45 year old artist that was washed up and considered done.

Skimmed through it and actually heard Eminem claim fans say "We don't want this. This sounds like you did in 2000."


I guess I must have missed those tracks us fans hated because they sounded like 2000-era Eminem. If anybody wants to point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it!

I really do love his Stepping Stone flow though. If he just had a better hook it'd be perfect. I hope he goes back to that flow more. So smooth.

In my mind that's a 4th classic to me.
That hag being said I still love kamakazi. Only songs I don't like are good guy and nice guy.. Though I like Ems flow on both Good guy could stay but nice guy is not very good. This is what I wanted from em very impressive. So yeah in my head imma make my Playlist revival and I'm gonna pretend Eminem dropped a 4th classic.. Kamikaze 8/10 4th best..
