Sep 6, 2018 Best review in the history of this site and hof worthy thread from the op alone Only thing I feel differently about is I have a higher opinion of Fall and Normal. Fall in particular will go down as one of Eminem’s greatest songs ever, and the whole “kathy griffin/gabby giffords” sequence is right up there with the Columbine/all in line sequence on MMLP1, that s--- gets me every time.
Sep 6, 2018 The Ringer: By far the best first track on an Em album since White America. Bad Guy Verse 4 is insane and a Top 10 Verse from Em for me, but the rest, ugh... The Song foreshadows very well what the listener has to expect from the rest of the record... Rating: 9 Greatest: Like the intro a lot, the beat is great, the hook is also kinda catchy and the verses(especially Verse 1 and 3) + his delivery are pure fire. The M16 Line is maybe the best punchline of the whole album. Rating: 9.5 Lucky You: Best Track of the album for me. Joyner and EM murdered that s---. Dope Hook, great Flows. EM's Verse on here is one of his best ever. Rating: 10 Normal: Another relationship song from EM. What a surprise... But his singing kinda works here really well. Rating: 7.5 Stepping Stone: He sounds like 2003/2004 EM on here. Very calm flow, like the singing part in Verse 3 a lot. "D12 is over" Rating: 9.5 Not Alike: EM murdered MGK on his verse. All after the beatswitch is 100/10. He really snapped on here. The Verse from Royce is great too. Rating: 9 Kamikaze: After the disaster with the Remind Me, Heat and Offended songs on Revival we finally get a fun song which works quiet well. The hook is kinda catchy after a few listens. The second beat is great and his lines hilarious Rating: 8.5 Fall: Love that song. He flows godly on here, no really fast rapping, nice hook and beat. And his lines against Budden hurt Joe so much, that he recorded a 90 min. podcast and totally lost it... Rating: 10 Nice Guy: Like the beat a lot. The "s--- my dig" Line is kinda childish but hey, where're on an Eminem album.Second Verse is great. Rating: 8 Good Guy: God, this beat is so nice and the singing in the background is wonderful. EM maybe delivers his best flow of the whole album on here. Very calm and catchy. Rating: 9.5 Venom: Great Closer for the album. Sick beat, dope and addictive hook from EM and i always have the "knock, knock, let the devil in" line in my head. Great 3rd Verse. Rating: 9 Overall:9/10 and by far his 4th best album.
Sep 6, 2018 this thread is embarrassing ngl. i dont understand what's different about this album. it's just as bad as everything else he's put out recently. this site bout to turn into home of the only stans left lol
Sep 6, 2018 Ok no bs review here we go. The album is OK, definitely overrated (probably just because of initial hype, it will die down). The Ringer Love the production, but what I don’t understand is how y’all love this album when Em falls into the same tropes you have been bashing him over for years. His flow is better on this track, but he then goes off about a crest white strip being shoved into his penis with an ice pick. The beat change does nothing for me at the end, and I’m sick of hearing about trump. Lol of course he didn’t respond, he’s the f---ing GOAT President. Also the song is too g.d. long, he just starts babbling, and like almost every song on this album it’s just fast rappity rap. 6/10 The Gayest Beat is ok, kind of corny. Hook is fun, but he starts rapping fast again which I thought y’all hated? I liked the first verse and the Mandalay Bay rhyme scheme/flow. “Just threw a Tampax at Dre” ugh really? Overall, I enjoy this track even with its flaws, even though this track really doesn’t show why he is the greatest imo. 8/10 Fucky you Let’s just get this out of the way. Joyner is Corny plain and simple. He reminds me of a younger Kornball Kenny. He raps super fast and not on beat. Hate the “Gimme some room, whoo” on repeat. Idk if it’s supposed to be satirical to modern rap? Either way it’s annoying. The beat is alright but I love Em’s verse and flow until he goes into hyper speed (which y’all should hate?) he sounds like f---ing Mac Lethal. If you guys don’t know who he is, look him up. He is actually Kmart. 7/10 Normal Wtf is this? We want content, and this is just a song about a made up relationship and beating his girlfriend. I know it’s supposed to be funny but it’s not. Has zero replay value, but the second beat is nice. Em’s flow is great on this though. Also that hook? Eeeew 2/10 Stepping Stone It was cool to hear this but would have been more impactful a long time ago...the song has no replay value which is the problem. Eminem also can’t sing so I wish he would stop. The sample sounds forced and this entire album is mixed like s---. It is great hearing Eminem actually rap about something though. 5/10 Not Alike My personal favorite song on the album. Take out the terrible hook and take out the speed rapping at the end and it’s a perfect song (although the hyper speed rapping kind of works here tbh). Lots of great rhyme schemes, passion, flows. Royce starts kind of monotonous but delivers a great verse as well. These two mesh well. The production and beat change actually make me horny. 9/10 Kamikaze The beat, hook, fack, hurts my ears. Lots of cringe lines and potty/d-ck references (not just this song but the whole album). Beat change is fire though. Great flow but a missed opportunity imo. 6/10 Fall Great track overall, the second best on the album. Almost everything is on point. Kind of sick of all the Revival hate on this album, it really was a pretty solid album. He even says multiple times he thinks it’s dope. Budden diss was dope. 8.5/10 Nice Guy Alright now we get into the real trash of this album...I have no idea what this is but it’s terrible and pointless. 1/10 Good Guy Somehow it gets even worse. Em needs to stay away from these relationship songs 0/10 Venom Um ok cool? A song slapped on at the end for a comic book movie...One of the worst cash grabs I’ve ever seen. I don’t think I’ve ever heard such a terribly mixed song. Reminds me of Phenomenal because they are both mixed so bad you can barely hear the vocals. The energy of the track is cool and I’ll be honest the hook is catchy (but Corny as h---) and the beat is unique. Eminem sounds alright but his verses do nothing for me...just rhyming words. 4/10 Overall 5/10 Edit: I’m dropping it .5 cuz of the unplugged toaster ryhme scheme on a near perfect song. Goddamnit Em.
Sep 7, 2018 I'll bite. Listened a few more times this week, probably finished with it. Definitely more replay value than Revival. Good album to workout to. The Ringer - 6 Greatest - 5 Lucky You - 6 Normal - 2 Stepping Stone - 9 Not Alike - 4 Kamikaze - 6 Fall - 6 Nice Guy - 3 Good Guy - 8 Venom - 4 Avg - 5.3 Also, Good Guy is a great song. I think the Nice Guy coupling makes it feel worse than it is. The beat is a highlight on the album. The verse has a consistent flow and is focused without being obnoxious. Eminem seems kinda genuine, especially for a relationship track.
Sep 7, 2018 Awesome review @Koolo !!!! And I share the same scores And I call it a classic since I have playing it every single day for the last week !
Sep 7, 2018 Kamikaze (album): 3/10 Verdict: this album is certified as the worst album in Eminem's career. The Slim Shady EP, The Re-Up >>>>>> Kamikaze. Billboard said this instead me: Marshall wags his hands like an old man griping at the kids from his metaphorical porch as he screams at and about Lil Yachty, lean, Lil Pump, AutoTune, Lil Xan, Drake, ghostwriters, and face tats. https://www.billboard.com/articles/...m-kamikaze-joe-budden-tyler-the-creator-trump Rolling Stone said this instead me: listeners have turned away from him because he turned away from D12 https://www.rollingstone.com/music/...ashes-out-at-the-rap-game-on-kamikaze-718628/
Sep 7, 2018 nah same here just find the beat a bit to slow rest of the album is fire except for not alike and nice guy i wish those 3 songs were different
Sep 7, 2018 The Ringer 9 Greatest 9 Lucky You 9 Normal 7 Stepping Stone 7.5 Nice Guy 7.5 Good Guy 7.5 Not Alike 8 Kamikaze 7 Fall 7 Venom 7 Avg: 7.8 Solid Album, sone songs are growing on me. Relationship songs are his best in years if not ever. My favorite Song is Greatest; beat, flow and lyricism are amazing Seems a little immature him coming like this but Em is a competitive guy, he’s def doing what he wants on this project. Thats good
Sep 7, 2018 Pretty sure every initial @Koolo review of an em album he always says he loves the album and overrates tf out of it etc then a few months later when hype dies down and ppl stop talking about it he changes his opinion
Sep 7, 2018 Nobody cares about my ratings so I came in to say: When Em first comes in on Lucky You and you hear that 2003 flow....g.d....its the first time an Eminem song legit got me excited in I don’t even know how long.... Where has that flow been the last 10 years if he’s still capable of it?? It’s mind boggling on like 3 different levels.
Sep 8, 2018 The Ringer 9 Greatest 10 Lucky You 10 Normal 7 Stepping Stone 9 Not Alike 8 Kamikaze 7 Fall 10 Nice Guy 7 Good Guy 10 Venom 8 Overall 8-9/10 Oh, Em calls Paul > Kanyes career
Sep 8, 2018 I would have rated them same. Exactly same opinions. Only nice guy would have got more. I really love nice guy and good guy songs they sound soo dope to me. This s--- is classic to my ears for now. Hope it stays like that.
