    I think something can still come as a shock or sudden without being “surprising” in the grand scheme of things.

    I mean were you expecting him to be dead sometime this week? A lot of artists make music about about drugs/depression/suicide

    I definitely have always related to and vibed with sad music, and a lot of the artists I listen to have died in tragic ways. This one hurts just as much if not worse than any of them. Swimming was an album about keeping your head above water, not drowning. Absolutely devastating

    I feel you. This last week 4(!) People threw themselves in front of a train at the train track near where I live. Not sure if they "succeeded" and I didn't even know them but thinking about what their families are going through breaks my heart. Same as when I saw this thread..

    Sorry for your dog man and I hope u get through the other stuff as well.

    I've been ready for G Herbo to die for years. Hip-hop is a tough lifestyle. It's not like when I watch boxing or MMA, I don't know on some level every one of these guys is going to have dimentia in their early 50s.

    Why do I worry about the wellbeing of somebody constantly armed and who has made song after song about substance abuse?

    I think the real question is why we can thirst for people like Future to air their demons without having concern spoil it for us.

    I didn't really see 'I've been ready for him to die for years' as being concerned about his well being but my apologies if that's how you meant it..

    This s--- is cold lol. I mean of course I dont care on a personal level but the fact that they rap about substance abuse (like 99% of the rappers does and did) doesn't make them bad people -not saying u think that but this post kinda suggests it-

    Bad people? For having vices? No, it's more taking us (the fans) to task for encouraging artists to destroy themselves if it enhances their art. See: Kanye's mental breakdown and the obliviousness his fans watched that one develop. "Oh, he's so quirky"

    And yes, I do think times like this are when we're supposed to talk about these things.
