I've checked a lot of conversation around killshot vs rap devil and it's honestly like 50/50 if not in favor of MGK some. I think it's generational , but it's sad people think MGK won honestly.


I'm happy I got a diss track , but the old, yesteryear , bitter , can't grip with fading out , narrative is setting in pretty broadly.

Man Rap Devil has no chance as a song with Killshot. Rap Devil was much more simple and thats why it kind of worked, people like it better that way.

Lyrically Killshot is way better, people complain because Em was saying how big he is but hey thats the route to go, show him whos the boss.

Listened again a few times. It’s good.... and definitely self aware. (Almost to the point where eminem seems to know this is just brandishing mgks career, isn’t a fair matchup)

So it IS a little bit of an L for em. Mgk has twenty years of pop culture (and miscues, and animosity) to tap into.

MGK’s response on twitter (said something bout how it took Em 2 weeks and 3 days) indicates there likely won’t be a response from him I’m guessing unless it comes out within the next day or 2.

He’s not gonna talk bout how Em took a while to respond and then take even half that time.

So yeah next day or so or never imo for an MGK diss response. Wasn’t sure whether to expect it or not cuz it’s obviously getting MGK a ton of attention, but at the same time he kinda said what he needed to already.

This feud is a great example of modern popular rap vs lyrical rap. Yes MGKs diss is more fun, it’s got a catchy beat and fun hook, so it doesn’t surprise me that a lot of the kids like his better. But every single line Em spits is a direct calculated response to what MGK said (which is what a response track to a diss should be, some you forgot that apparently). Em’s classic word play is back at every turn and he changes up his cadence and speed a ton of times (MGK doesn’t). Em doesn’t have a hook...because he doesn’t need one. Hooks take up time on the clock he spends coming back at MGK. Also he doesn’t come as hard as he could’ve, because MGK isn’t worth him coming full force. To all the kids who don’t know Em, who didn’t grow up seeing grainy VHS coverage of him battling...this was him showing mercy. Em’s response was a murder, but if he came back full force...it’d be a massacre. Em won.

People are forgetting Eminem never responded to “Stan” in time (aka diss tack).. so Stan took action and killed him self with his family (aka rap devil diss).
