Just a handful of summer release movies...although they go back from 1-3 years. Is that still too long ago?

    Blackkklansman - August 10th
If Beale Street Could Talk - December 14th
Skin - Not sure what Oscar movie this is...
Shape of Water - January 18th
    Dunkirk - July 21st
La la Land - December 9th
    Hacksaw Ridge - November 4th

So, in conclusion, I'll give you Dunkirk. I'm going to argue against myself and point out the obvious. I'm right, except for when it comes to Nolan and Tarantino. They make great Oscar movies that are also summer blockbusters. I think that combo is incredibly rare.

So unless it's an Oscar movie specifically made and promoted for awards season it's trash eh

A lot of people love it, a lot seem to be more tempered, which is probably for the best. Characters sound more grounded than the norm. Lot's of feet. We'll see.

It's coming out in the Summer because it was originally supposed to release on August 9, 2019. The 50th anniversary of the Tate Murders. However, some people didn't like that so Sony bumped it a few weeks.

With that said I felt that Tarentino's letter pleading to not spoil this film was a spoiler in itself. I really hope they don't Inglorious Basterdize this movie. Like I REALLY don't want that to happen but I don't know why else he'd put that out there

saw this yesterday. I liked it, but it didn’t blow me away like many of his previous films. To me, the ending was one of the best parts of the film. I think Brad and Leo had good chemistry as well, but I didn’t come away from this movie thinking it’s one of his best films. Quentin has said himself that he doesn’t think directors are good when they’re old. In other words, the quality of their work tends to decrease once they’re late in their career. I think this is part of the reason why he plans to make only one more movie

What did the rest of you think?

I thought it was underwhelming tbh. Ending was good, great acting/chemistry but the characters felt bland and not fleshed out. It’s definitely in the latter half of Tarintinos filmography.

I've yet to see this. Going on Wednesday, so I hope it's good. I know it's quite long. What's everyone's favorite Tarantino movie?

Reservoir dogs or Pulp Fiction, hard to decide. His worst is Jackie Brown.

This movie seemed to lack that tightness that his older movies had. I feel like from Inglorious onwards he has gotten sloppy. Not in anyway bad movies, still great, just not the same caliber. This movie kind of slogged in the middle. He could have cut this movie down into about 2 hours 15 mins.

It was great! The ending was awesome...major buildup throughout the movie but the ending was worth it...Original plot and Tarantino style
