Apr 21, 2020 Nah @Koolo is 100% right, rap fans have been shi--ing on the era that they’re currently in for more or less as long as rap’s been a thing. Every era looks better in hindsight ‘cause everyone only remembers the s--- that’s worth remembering.
Apr 21, 2020 I wonder what Hip-Hop will sound like in 10 years time The way things are going it wouldn't surprise me if we see the first tranny rapper some time this Decade, or a music label solely for trans/queer folk.
Apr 21, 2020 This 2005-2008 opinion is PURE INSANITY. Other than T.I., Akon, Kanye and arguably Lil Wayne, it is a WASTELAND. It was the beginning of the end for most of us now well into our 30's. It's not complete trash like now but "golden age"? Absolute balderdash with a side of hooey. I'll take all of the 80's before this "golden age" you reference here, op.
Apr 21, 2020 f--- no. it is the streaming era. Songs are too short no great albums apart from Roddy Ricch
Apr 21, 2020 I guess it all depends on taste as well. You love trap music and rappers. So it makes sense that u like this era more than people that find it repetive. I do agree that every era has great music though, but depending on taste it differs for everyone what era stands out.
Apr 21, 2020 i think a Kevin Gates album dropped sometime then that I liked... This x1000. so fucken sick of listening to these new albums and every songs just 3x 40 second songs glued together. it's weak as piss too "i can't rap and keep people entertained for longer than a minute, better throw some beat switch ups all over this track" it's like no just quit you s--- c---- lol. any b---- n----- that speaks like this doesn't get an opinion on hip-hop or the golden era of gangsta rap cause it's harder, more gangsta. Sonically better and not a bunch of 808 drums covered in dust "muh 90s" is weak as piss and something caped by people who didn't live through the period, so they are going back and listening to it like it's fresh. heard it all before, thats why i fucken DELETE any modern song that starts of with a beat screaming "I wish i mas made 2 decades ago!" and an artist screaming "I WSH I WAS BORN IN THE 90'S REEEEEEEEE"
Apr 22, 2020 It feels tougher to these days to find a particular artist or sound that works for you, coz there's an oversaturation of music that takes much more effort to sift through the massive music catalogues, and they're constantly churning out music so it's an uphill battle. But in saying that, there's gold to be found in this generation's hip-hop as well. I feel like your gripe is with what's in vogue with mainstream than the genre as a whole in this age.
