May 6, 2020 You know, when some says "I don't feel this" it means I dont have an appeal, I dont identified or I dont like something, so sales have absolutely nothing to do with that.
May 6, 2020 I wouldn't exactly characterize myself as anti Eminem. I was an Eminem fan from SSLP to TES. What I am not is a Stan. I knew about Hip Hop years before Eminem. I understand that criticizing Eminem doesn't necessarily mean that one is jealous of him. I don't think Joe is jealous of him, I think Joe is just opinionated and he speaks honestly, oftentimes to his own detriment (ie the Method Man/Wu-Tang debacle). And Em himself knew that prior to signing Slaughterhouse. Go back to that XXL Shady 2.0 interview, Em was joking about all the problems Joe was going to cause. Semi Joking it seems. But Joe was spot on with the Em criticism. I didn't avoid your introspection thing. I just pointed out the fact that when Joe was criticizing Em, he brought up a lot of valid points and it wasn't just limited to what you're talking about.
May 9, 2020 I don't think any of the so called stans or teenagers or girl fans or hipsters think or ever believed there was no hip hop before Eminem or let's say ever think hip hop was terrible before Eminem came about When u master making catchy records especially singles and can make smash hits with such ease for radio play, have an image that's appealing to females in appearance, have a h--- of a lot of records dealing with emotion. U gonna sell the crazy amount of records like he did and be the mega star he becane This not to say there wasn't many rappers making catchy records before Eminem or putting emphasis on emotion in records of course there were. But Eminem took it to a different level stepped up the catchy records, emotion a few notches Joe Budden could never sell records or blow up mainstream for a reason he couldn't make catchy records and hits. Choruses is what Joe Budden weakness
May 9, 2020 Em’s leading singles weren’t catchy as much as they were Poppy. They were clearly aimed at younger fans, the MTV crowd, White kids in the Burbs. Joe being a Black artist on Def Jam had to create radio/club hits. All Em had to do was create goofy lead singles that Pop and Rock radio would eat up. The expectations for both artists are widely different and Em is well aware of that himself, he’s rapped about in White America (“If I was Black I woulda sold half”). Em said it himself.
May 9, 2020 I have no idea who either one is tbh. But this is the unfortunate consequence of merging an Eminem forum with a General Hip Hop forum.
May 10, 2020 Pop just means popular the singles were catchy which led to them being so popular It was just two main elements he did that resulted in them being so popular and big hits. The choruses and the beats from when u have these two elements to be catchy u can't lose and can't not sell a lot If Joe Budden couldn't create hits but all the other black rappers who been successful in sales could then Joe Budden has to accept u can't sell records and have hits if u not good at song writing why moan about it
May 10, 2020 Beats are his only overall weakness that people that hate him or envy him for his success and domination of the music industry in terms of popularity can have a genuine case for.. TES is the only outstanding produced album
