Aug 14, 2020 Man Hit-Boy was such a beast in the early 2010s. Clique, Paris, Goldie, Backseat Freestyle, Trophies, Feelin' Myself. This production suits Nas but he definitely still feels a little sluggish I agree with @Antman. Not bad.
Aug 14, 2020 This felt pretty auto-pilot by his lofty standards, but there were flashes of what he can actually do in a couple intervals. I'm still pretty confident this will turn out to be good, Hit-Boy mastered the Neo Boom-Bap production over the last couple of years. Just hope Nas delivers on his end.

Aug 14, 2020 Can't wait. It's great to see Nas active again after that 6 year gap between Life Is Good and Nasir. Curious to hear what he will do with a new full length album. I quite like the single. It's not great, but it has a nice vibe and some cool lines. Definitely a very laid back Nas rapping on this, which is cool for a change of pace but I hope is not indicative of the whole album. The production is good too, so that's a promising start.
Aug 14, 2020 Singles often lack the full power of the artist's lyricism. They are meant to be easily absorbed by even the dumbest audiences. It's the deep cuts that make an album great.

Aug 14, 2020 I disagree, obviously, but even if you don't like the album it was undeniably the kind of project Jay needed to make at this point in his career. A more grounded album, fully embracing his status as like, rap elder statesman was exactly what was necessary after BP3 and MCHG, where he was largely chasing trends.

Aug 15, 2020 The Wyoming stunt was an interesting creative risk so I don't begrudge Nas for taking it. It didn't work out amazing but there's a few good songs and that is a decent result for something rushed out during a Kanye manic episode.
