    I requested a mail in ballot but it got soaked and ripped in my mailbox because there was a downpour the day it got delivered so I voted in person cuz I didn't wanna risk it being questioned. I took it with me to the polls and there's a process to cancel your mail-in ballot. Just had to write CANCELED on it and sign a form and give it to them.

    yeah but that's blatant voter fraud and I'm sure they have a system in place that will alert them if the same person votes twice lol

    They lost a bunch of votes and court ordered Usps to find them before the end of the night yesterday and they didn’t sweep for them

    In South Florida, the USPS failed to deliver ~27 percent of the mail ballots.

    In Florida, Michigan and Wisconsin, ballots that arrive after Election Day are not counted, regardless of when they were post-marked. Pennsylvania *might* accept ballots up to three days after the election, but the Supreme Court *could* revisit that in the coming days.

    tbh my understanding is that those ballots prly wouldn't have made it in time
    .... and it'll be wild/fascinating/painful to try and quantify how many votes we lost in the mail thats the point

    tbh DeJoy will go down in history as a footnote of a notable subverter of American democracy..and he looks like a literal demon

    buddy also just informed me that if you show up to the polls, they will say, "we mailed you a ballot, you can't vote normally, but you can fill out this provisional ballot (which isn't included in the counting until after everything else is done, and we will only count it if we confirm we didn't receive your mail-in"

    Everyone in NJ received a mail in ballot but I would have never mailed it in. We have ballot boxes in every city that are usually connected to townhall/police department and that's where everyone here should have dropped it. I would never trust USPS with that

    ...in which case, i have no idea how a reconciliation process takes place

    re: all procedural things like this — remember that elections are run by the counties, with virtually no practical oversight, and that god knows which people are empowered to decide whose ruined ballot is legitimate and whose is a scam.
