Jul 5, 2021 I don’t want em to have future, drake , da baby etc as a feature cuz he’ll get renegaded off the track…put him with someone he can actually compete with in 2021 ,like Justin Bieber or Macklemore. a nas collab would be fair game as well since he also seems to have fell off in the past few years. I wouldn’t expect much from a song pairing these two at this point of their careers ,it’s more of a fantasy match up.
Jul 5, 2021 You have the boring stuff, like Cole and Tyler released. That gets praised but people wonder why the songs come and go withing a week. Generic trap never ending wave that gets more tiring and generic every year. This includes weird trap s--- like Carti or Travis, and funny ones like Dababy. Outdated grimmy stuff that hasn't been cool since the early 2000s, like Griselda or Banks now. Same thing as the boring stuff, it gets praise but comes and goes too. Kanye turning into a Pastor and making people listen to Jesus raps. The goats still dropping music like Jay, Nas, Em and Wayne.
Jul 5, 2021 lol that's how I see it. I used to like Cole, but I don't find this new album interesting. Just like Banks new album, but I'm not into Griselda and he went in the same direction, so it was expected. Travis album was ok, but I feel like features from Drake and Kendrick keep him alive. He's definitely better than generic trap acts tho Carti is weird femenine trap s--- to me. Whatever people see in him or that album specifically, I don't hear it or see it.
Jul 5, 2021 I like future, thug, travis a little, etc but migos, uzi and carti are not for me I guess
Jul 5, 2021 I feel like you have this weird stipulation where a song/album has to continue to be popular for a year+ for it to be considered worthwhile
Jul 5, 2021 Amongst the cockfest of listeners that are sure to tune in, yeah he might steal a few. . But most of the young good looking b------s that will listen to the song would already be a part of the Bieber fan base, so it wouldn’t really be considered stealing.
Jul 5, 2021 Genuine question. Do you think that em would actually be able to work with some of the people you listed? or would it just be more of em trying to one up artists instead of trying to actually make great songs with them
Jul 5, 2021 I don't. I like albums that aren't popular. But I've seen people saying those albums came and went, like wondering why, and I'm like it's obvioulsy a replay value problem. No songs from those projects (Cole and Tyler) would stick around.
Jul 5, 2021 I like songs by all of them except Carti. But trap has been so generic. At this point, a 20 track trap project will move around 100k which is considered a success, and that's it, people just move on until another generic trap project drops and the same exact thing happens. I don't hate trap, but artists like Jeezy, T.I. or Ross were way better and had more diverse songs than artists like Baby and Gunna. Only Baby song I liked recently was TBP, that proves that he can make something that isn't generic af. And Dababy and Uzi might look funny, but they drop mostly trash imo, and in Uzi's case, very repetitive trash. So I like trap artists, it just kept getting worse and worse and now it's generic and whack. I hope it will evolve or something. Otherwise mainstream will be stuck in watered down repetitive trap.
Jul 5, 2021 Yep diversity is what I mean too. A lot of it sounds too similar. Which isnt saying its bad but bores me
Jul 5, 2021 I see where you're coming from but i would also like to add that just the sheer volume of music and the way the internet functions in general I feel like it's really hard for the zeitgeist to stay on one thing for an extended period of time but I guess that just makes the albums that accomplish that feat all the more special
