Jan 22, 2022 It's an example cause it's the most childish song on the album. Plenty of other examples just in MMLP2 or Revival alone. And I keep saying when I say mature I mean a f---ing serious album and you tell me a serious album is rapping about money remember the song we both agree is dope? Moon Man & Slim? that's MATURE to me, other than the corny use the bathroom line that feels out of place. And I said Jay like I could have said Nas and KD2 or Magic. They both dropping serious records and caring about their career more than Em. I will obviously go back to Em more since he's my favorite, but I still think 4:44 is a better album than what we've been getting from Em the last decade.
Jan 22, 2022 lol now Stepdad is an amazing song for a 50yo rapper and not a way of ruining an Alc beat. Maybe Love Game is a classic Hip Hop collab too lmao
Jan 22, 2022 Half amazing lol I will give you that, he could have scrapped all the dumb s--- and the I love you b---- tracks
Jan 22, 2022 So if you were to get stranded on a deserted island for a year and you could only take one of these 3 albums: -4:44 -MTBMB Side A -MTBMB Side B You'd pick 4:44?. That's crazy to me, but hey.
Jan 22, 2022 Eh, like I said I go back to Em more, so probably Side B. But if I want to listen to something well done and without a ton of dad jokes, 4:44 obviously lol
Jan 22, 2022 That's an excuse tbh, if he cared about the quality of his albums now that he's 50 and close to the finish line, he would keep these dumb tracks and silly relationship songs in the vault and just drop the good songs. I think he should use his humour and all that for freestyles tbh or just to have fun in the studio in between tracks.
Jan 22, 2022 His age has nothing to do with the music he is making. Obsessed with his age. Jay is over 50 and rapping about driving a Ferrari and cheating with young women, mid life crisis? So what. Make music to how ever you please.
Jan 22, 2022 He was rapping about the consequences of his acts, but if you want 50yo Em to drop songs full of dad jokes and not take his career seriously, then you're in for a treat unless he switches his style which doesn't seem to be about to happen. I love Side B, but be serious, most of that s--- is immature and dumb. He's just relaxed and it sounds good.
Jan 22, 2022 You’re calling people supsuck so your ear for what is mature or not is flawed. Clearly based from critics, Jay has never made a song as raw and honest like Leaving Heaven. So just stop.
Jan 22, 2022 revival is the closest em will ever come to making a 4:44 and that's because he was obviously depressed as s--- during that time and had a lot of personal s--- to get off his chest. i don't think he's in the headspace to make that kind of music anymore. he even said in the shade 45 interview about side B that he doesn't enjoy making serious music as much as he does having fun and barring out. he's clearly in it for the sport at this point and doesn't have that many problems he needs to talk about.
Jan 22, 2022 He was depressed making Revival? Guess you mean Recovery. I also don't think he needs problems to keep the tone of the album serious.
