Jan 27, 2022 Not saying I believe in an album coming 100% (wouldn’t be sensible to) but what’s the one event that would literally be perfect promo for any album, ever? If you’ve got an album ready - the perfect time to drop is around the Superbowl. Could be a surprise release tonight, or it could have an ad placement after half time of the show. Remember when we all thought it was coming late last year? Could’ve easily delayed it to work on a few more songs (you know what Em’s like - happened a lot before), and to tie it in with the Superbowl. The original plan could well have been to drop around the time when his spaghetti restaurant opened. It wouldn’t surprise me

Jan 27, 2022 Wanna bring some hype back on. We are about to get a Super Bowl performance in 17 days. Performers catalogs usually get a crazy boost from it ( e.g. The Weeknd last year https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/the-weeknd-charts-super-bowl-1126287/ + he dropped a greatest hits collection to increase it even more). IF the album is ready, I'd drop it before the Super Bowl (MJB and Snoop the same week, like J.T. did in 2018) or the week right after (Dre probably). After that yeah, you could still have some buzz around your name but most of it is gone. Kendrick been mia for almost five years so he can build the hype with a single whenever he wants and will probably get his highest first week anyway. Em on the other side should capitalise on the buzz of the Super Bowl and release his new album in the next 3-4 weeks. But in the end i'm just speculating lol
