It seems like I was wrong about CC2 and how it might still make sense to drop greatest hits albums... CC2 is barely selling anything. If I was Em or actually any other artist, I wouldn't even release any physicals after this. It doesn't make sense at all. I thought people were still collecting and buying those for the sake keeping their collection complete but obviously I was wrong. It's just a waste of money at this point to print out all those cds and vinyls only to sell barely 100k in US... (it's 40k or something for CC2 which is worse)

I'm shocked nobody gives a f--- anymore about physicals.But if you see Harry styles he sold like 100K vinyls but that was a new studio album.Maybe people really don't see the point of a greatest hits in this streaming era and rather give there money to a new studio album instead of a collection of hits.But hey Em stil top 5 with a greatest hits 25 years in his career not bad at all.His new studio album is definitely going to do better.If he releases physicals first week maybe he is doing Beyoncé numbers.

The issue I have with his vinyl releases are that they are also released months after the CDs. I know the pressing plants are backlogged but If that is the case then why do so many other huge artists have their new albums pressed to vinyl at the same time as the CDs? Clearly the labels can do it if they want to or maybe they pay extra to have some albums put to the front of the que but I know would go buy the physical releases on the day of release if I could. And why just make cassettes for the signed copies? Many artists have new albums on cassette and they are so cheap and also available online and in some physical stores physically on the day of release. How can all these other big artists get their CDs and vinyl records and cassettes all pressed and ready to go for release on Fridays but Eminem can't?

Really not a suprise CC2 isn't a big hit. Still probably worth it for the label, and will continue to get streams/sales over time.

Greatest hits albums aren't really popular anymore for a reason, and this one even covered only the weaker part of the artists career so yeah kinda expected.

At the end of the day it's just a cash grab so who cares. More interested in the "new era" they teased and if Eminem can really change it up again at this point in his career because just continuing with the same dad joke, pun, fast rap formula with the same repeating topics, same outfits, same non existing public presence etc would hardly be a new era imo.

This is true. CC1 was the last CD I bought to complete my Em collection and that was just for completions sake
