Feb 16, 2023 As an artist you gotta strike a balance between not sounding the same on every song and not sounding so different that it ends up being bad. Wrong! I think it still happened, but it was to a much smaller degree than today. On MTBMB you have a cypher like Yah Yah and then outta nowhere you have that annoying a--- Stepdad song. It wasn’t that bad in 09-10 I haven’t listened yet because I’m busy but yeah he’s not a super versatile artist
Feb 16, 2023 Yeah I think he could be having more though. I liked 6-7 songs from Kamikaze, 9-10 from MTBMB, 6-7 on Side B. It’s normal to have a few songs I don’t like on an album even for other artists, but for Em these days it gets to me only liking like half the album and that’s a problem for me. One big thing I hope he stops doing is trying to emulate newer artists while making fun of it at the same time… like the Not Alike hook or the Marsh hook. I also wish he would stop hyperfocusing on emphasizing every syllable in every song… it’s fine to do it for some songs but it gets draining to listen to because that ends up sounding robotic and doesn’t mesh well with his high pitched voice in my ears. The reason why Em’s voice was tolerable was because he had such a smooth flow…
Feb 16, 2023 @Inbred hillbilly I relistened to NF’s Clouds mixtape last night since I haven’t heard it since 2021 and I didn’t like it nearly as much as I used to. I keep forgetting that my music taste has changed so much in these last few years. The songs sound alright but they are very boring most of the time… and NF’s punchlines are corny as h---. Tech N9ne’s verse was dope though. And you were right, NF’s voice is very whiny and annoying a lot of the time lol
Feb 16, 2023 His "pop" songs are definitely my favourites lol. 3am, If You Want Love, Let You Down, Time, Lie, I Miss The Days, Prideful Etc all bangers
Feb 16, 2023 You wake up on a cold winter morning in January 2020, your eyes still bleary from sleep. As you stretch and rub the sleep from your eyes, you reach for your phone to check the time. That's when you see it: a notification saying Eminem posted something, and you click on it. You see that Eminem has just dropped a new album - Music to be Murdered By. You can hardly contain your excitement. You hastily put on your headphones and click on the album. As the first track starts playing, you can't believe your ears. The sound of stabbing and a woman screaming catches you off guard, leaving you feeling shocked and a bit unnerved. But you can't stop listening. The album takes you on a journey, each track transporting you to a different time and place. Eminem's lyrics are as raw and unfiltered as ever, his storytelling ability unrivaled. You find yourself transported back to the early days of his career, when his music had the power to shock and provoke in equal measure. You remember the first time you heard "My Name Is" and "The Real Slim Shady", the songs that had made Eminem a cultural icon. You were just a teenager then, a misfit who felt like you didn't quite fit in anywhere. But Eminem's music had given you a voice, a way to express yourself. As you listen to Music to be Murdered By, you can't help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over you. It's as if you're back in that time, when the world was simpler and your problems felt a little smaller. You're grateful for the memories, for the way that Eminem's music has been a constant in your life. As the album comes to a close, you're left feeling both satisfied and a little sad. You know that this is the end of an era, the final chapter in Eminem's storied career. But you're grateful for the journey, for the memories, and for the music that will stay with you always.
