If the rumors that Kendrick already had diss tracks prepared are true, I’m hoping he goes back and edits them to roast Cole for being such a p---- like this. I feel like Kendrick might still be waiting for Drake to respond, but we’ll see. Maybe he has something separate for Cole now.

Drake is by far the most battle tested out of all of them, neither of the other 2 have anything remotely resembling a truly great, full on diss track that is considered a classic in the nexus of the culture, Drake does. Given history I think Drake could win a battle vs Kendrick tbh. J Cole never was gonna be able to do that.

Seems unlikely we’re gonna get anything from Drake besides some passive aggressive subs in a few months but maybe eventually that spirals into an entertaining battle. Right now all this s--- is lame

Plus.. I’ve been feeling like, them boys to old to be beefing at this stage in their career.. if they wanted to beef, they should’ve popped that off 10 years ago, when control dropped.. they been top toeing around that beef, especially Drake and Kendrick.. they been feeling some type of way, they should’ve been set that off years ago, by now they would be cool.. this the time in their career they should be kicking back with that beef s--- behind them..

Why are people so gassed to have a fake beef between dudes that don't have problems with each other? Are we that empty as a society? Are we that bored? Are we that ego driven? Like wtf. Cole saying what he said at Dreamville was the most Cole s--- ever. It was honest and what he felt but even cynically it's going to age like wine. Like his noname song in summer '20.

I got some game for anyone that needs it. If you want to know what the consensus is going to be about something in the future, look for the contrarian take in the present. That is literally cooler heads prevailing. That is someone looking at a crazed mob, an apt description for social media, and understanding that the mob is pure ego. Pure emotion. Pure tribalism. In other words, the crazed mob might reveal the raw feelings of a moment but a crazed mob is not wise. What's J Cole if not wise?

I understand where you're coming from. I just can't personally compare a real act of war and a subsequent real war with a dudes name being mentioned in a rap song. That's what literally happened. Kendrick didn't blow up his house or some s---. He said his name in a rap song. Cole tried to give the people what they wanted. It felt disingenuous and wrong and so he copped to how he was feeling. I've been saying this from the rip as a Cole stan. I love Kendrick. I think Kendrick has a better catalog. What's there even bad to say about him? And further more, why would I even care to say it when I know that I f--- with his music anyway.

Agreed that Cole’s actions are disingenuous — they’re diametrically opposed to the vast majority of his recent content.

If he’s not about beef, he shouldn’t be spitting all these lyrical threats while proclaiming himself as a GOAT. How can anyone listen to those “face of death”/“clean up my plate” type bars the same way after this stunt?!?

More importantly, if he’s not about beef, he shouldn’t have released 7 Minute Drill in the first place.

The past 24 hours have made Cole look like a disingenuous, indecisive, scared little boy playing in a game that’s way out of his league.
