    Disorderly Progress What's cookin?

I remember when this came out and the years after; it flopped with fans and was seen as a disappointment, and a sell-out/off-target album.

You can hear there's some of that, with some of the production and hooks, with Wyclef trying to sort of, mix Canibus' style with s--- that didn't mix, but, it's only a couple of songs...

Overall, it's a dope AF album. Tracks where he goes off (Patriots, Second Round KO, Buckingham Palace), concepts (Nigganometry, I Honor U); one of the GOAT diss tracks too @ Second Round KO, and one of the GOAT punchline tracks @ Buckingham Palace...

It's only really 'What's Going On' and 'I Honor U' with the production / vibe which doesn't really fit him, but... his rapping and the content is still on point...

I mean look at the tracklist:

    1 "Intro"
    2 "Patriots"
    3 "Get r-----ed"
    4 "Negronometry"
    5 "Second Round K.O."
    6 "What's Going On"
    7 "I Honor U"
    8 "Hype-nitis"
    9 "How We Roll"
    10 "Channel Zero"
    11 "Let's Ride"
    12 "Buckingham Palace"
    13 "Rip Rock"
    14 "How Come"

Maybe a couple more off there too but, overall... s---'s a good album. Wit some stellar rapping. People act like this album was just a total sellout POS.

Shows how high the standards of this era were, but also expectations of him for his debut. But, I think he mostly delivered; though reminds me a little of Yela / Radioactive. Ironic as back in 99 Em criticized Wyclef for trying to 'mold Canibus' and ruining this debut, and then he did the xact same fkn thing with Yelawolf.

Rip Rock went hard back in the day. Haven’t heard it in like 20 years. Get r-----ed had a catchy hook with the vocals. That song wouldn’t fly in the mainstream today. How We Roll and 2nd Round KO also standouts.

It was a terrible album with some good moments. The production is the primary culprit here. Wyclef's style just didn't mesh well with Canibus. With all the hype that Canibus had, super lyrical MC bringing complicated lyrics to the mainstream, all the guest features he did prior, holding his own against LL (who at the time was still seen as battle rap legend), Canibus was that Dude for a minute. But his debut was a huge dud. The second album was better but kind of forgettable. It was too late by that point.
