Jul 3, 2024 After all the dust has settled neither of those albums are actually great as a whole project. Both have a couple good songs but that's about it. So honestly it won't take much to be better than either of them.

Jul 3, 2024 I like Tobey but I also wouldn't be surprised if Tobey is on the album purely because he heard some criticism that he doesn't help Detroit artists and wouldn't think that it's going to necessarily be similar to the majority of the songs

Jul 3, 2024 Not to attack anyone of the guys in these screenshots, cuz that's not the objective of this post but: Don't you guys see? Royce might be the precise reason why Eminem music evolved into a robotic mess. You are praising Royce for the same reasons you dislike *some* of Eminem's music in the past decade or more. We all share this common desire of wanting Em to care a lot less about rhyming every syllable and making super complex rhyme schemes sacrificing the music side of his songs. But at the same time you are quoting Royce's music that highlight this abomination that has taken over in rap music. And it's no wonder Em has gotten more and more obsessed with that eversince he reunited with Royce. You can clearly hear this increasingly getting worse. From BME and SHADY XV to REVIVAL, KAMIKAZE and MTBMB. And at the same time, in the interview with Crooked, Em clearly said he gets anxiety when he's on a song with him or Royce. This is why I want Royce as far away from Em as possible.
Jul 3, 2024 Royce doesn't appear to sacrifice actual content for the rhyme schemes though. Look at songs like Right For Me from ShadyXV, Offended from Revival - Eminem isn't really saying anything, he's just rhyming for the sole purpose of rhyming both Royce and Eminem have come with both content and great rhyme schemes on Caterpillar, Not Alike and You Gon' Learn which are their three most recent collabs
Jul 3, 2024 But I never said the word "content". I said "music". Rap is still music. Melody's king. Em used to be awesome because of the musicality in his cadences and flows. But it's a lot harder to do that when your main focus is making every syllable rhyme, line after line after line.
Jul 3, 2024 Eminem has regressed on his technical ability now whilst also saying nothing, Royce is the complete opposite. I want content from Em only if he isn’t showcasing his skills as an elite emcee, which he’s not been doing for a while. He’s basically making reaction video bait, that doesn’t appeal to the musical side of me nor the rappity rap side of me. Also this has always been a core part of rap? & Eminem has always been a heavy rhymer, he was just smoother with it before.
Jul 3, 2024 Yet I could also give you numerous examples of Eminem's highlighted rhyme schemes that look just like Royce's. Eminem has never fully been a 'conscious' rapper. He has a some songs here and there. Royce's sole reason for being a rapper is about writing conscious lyrics.

Jul 3, 2024 It’s not about the rhymes, it’s the rhymes connected to content. Rhyming about nothing is easy, saying something whilst doing it isn’t. Something Eminem seems to forget for 90% of his recording sessions lately.
