Jul 12, 2024 Oh no, Skylar was good. Em just held back given what the song was supposed to be about. Feels like he could've written longer and more meaningful verses.
Jul 12, 2024 I agree. His two songs about his daughters are uniquely structured. Last song almost feels like a sample featuring Eminem, instead of vice versa. And I don't know.....it seems like we've heard this message from Hailie's Song, to Mockingbird, to When I'm Gone, to Going through Changes, to Castle, to Arose, and it's just changing lyrics up. I do love the audio footage on Temporary and thought for Skylar she did good on the hook. I would have preferred him have a more modern touch, talking about her graduating college, happily married, and proud of how she's grown up and the young woman she's turned into, instead of being so down on himself. Obviously she turned out pretty great, and he did a great job too. I think that would have been a better angle to go at it.
Jul 12, 2024 So many of these songs I wish were actually on MMLP2. f--- man Rick Rubin really f----- Ems s--- up you could slide a bunch of these in place of those Rick Rubin tracks and it improves that record so much
Jul 12, 2024 Why does that guy rap in whatever language on honcho? His hook and second verse are really good though!! b-----r Em kills it
Jul 12, 2024 I'm gonna remove the songs after GC2 - Might just throw Castle & Arose as ''bonus tracks'' feeling on. Then I'm very very close to call it a classic to current Em standards
Jul 12, 2024 What's worse is that what comes after ain't exactly horrible but it's so out of place, feels like Em just felt like throwing an extra EP in there
Jul 12, 2024 My first post here, I've been a lurker for a long time. Such a fun album, I think the songs that come after GS2 fit the theme, but I wouldn't have been mad if the album had ended there. Also, the use of AI is vastly exaggerated; I'm very sure of that since I work in the AI field. The biggest Ws: Much fewer corny lines than on the previous couple of projects, almost no fast rapping, no relationship songs, and excellent production throughout the album.
