Jul 17, 2024 I don't think it is incredible. I think it's very average written from Em. Because, I don't believe it was sincere... I honestly think he tried to just sort of give us another 'Castle' and 'Arose', bc as he said - he thinks people didn't listen to 'em bc they hated the rest of 'Revival' / didn't get to 'em. So I think he forcefully recreated both. Neither sound sincere @ Temporary or Save Me to me. They're kind of just lazily, quickly written it sounds like, just the first path of his pen... no real passion. They're nicely made songs. But forced and he's done the 'letter to hailie' s--- 100 times, okay not 100 but he's done When I'm Gone in 2005 for christ sake, and In Your Head... Castle... Arose... / Castle and Arose especially were both letters to Hailie like and could be seen as the same thing, but Arose especially felt fully sincere and it's a masterpiece. I just think he shouldn't have forced it, even though the production and hook etc. is nice - ironically I think Em is the worst thing about the song... The recordings (reckon there's AI on those? His voice sounds weird like, I don't know if they're real) x Skylar hook... amazingly, she sounds like she fkn has soul for once, and the production... are all great. Em's verses are just 'yeah bla bla go to school I love you! and i love you to' and just blabbering lazy written.
