Jul 16, 2024 Hope the s--- reviews and the casual fans bumming Somebody Save Me and Temporary doesn’t change his direction for next album. He made Recovery due to the reception of Relapse and casuals loving Beautiful. TDOSS is the right direction for future albums and hope he can continue to be creative with his music like he has on TDOSS and not resort back to making music for everyone again.
Jul 16, 2024 I have serious doubts he will drop anything like TDOSS again. He wants to make music like the back end of TDOSS so my guess is that is what the next album will be.
Jul 16, 2024 Not true at all. Listen to the Paul Pod with Eminem, Eminem talks about how they had enough songs for Relapse 2, but they all s----d. He wasn't happy with Relapse, and that's just something us fans have to accept. Great listen, even if Paul does yap too much.
Jul 17, 2024 That doesn't prove what you're saying. He still could have been questioning it due to the reception. 50 Cent even said that he did. He said he changed course / went back to the lab BECAUSE of fan reception. And then you think it's a coincidence he just did exactly what fans wanted? When, he even came out the gate with Relapse promotion saying he didn't want it to be all 'me, me, me' anymore, and so self-obsessed, and wanted it to be conceptual and diaconnected more from his life... once removed... (I cherished that written interview)... Then everybody loved Beautiful, clearly a safety net track and he just coincidentally makes a whole album in that vein, the exact thing he said he didn't want to do but alll fans were 'demanding', and just worked with the most popular producers and got a bunch of popstars? Yeah, totally organic / from him. Also HA Paul @ 'there's not enough songs, not even close!' and Em is just like 'uh, no there are tons' lmao.
Jul 18, 2024 I agree. If his next album isn’t like an album full of Royce and lyrical and legacy hip hop artist. It’s definitely gonna lean more like save me and be more alternative and pop rap. But who knows.
Jul 18, 2024 True but s--- reviews are... divided, from predictable critics and due to content, rather than musically. I didn't even see anyone criticize the music, it's all what he's saying or whether they agree with it... which is f---ing r-----ed. But, fans are loving this album. I haven't seen 1 fan say this s--- sucks. Wheras Relapse, it was like initially positive AF, but then 80% turned negative, which shows how swayed by each other people are too, bc the INITIAL reaction if you check forums etc. - was 'OMG THIS s--- IS AMAZING' then 1 or 2 say 'wtf, accents are weird! and he's f---ing his stepdad? gayyy. This isn't cool to like!', then all the sheeple go 'BAHHH, true! I wanna look cool! This sucks!', until like 10 years later and now many fans 'love it again'.
Jul 18, 2024 Yeah but that was good bc Revival was abysmal. But we all agree this is fire. So if he looks at critic reviews and tries to revert to pop s--- etc. in response to this, or changes course... not good!
Jul 18, 2024 You can take 50’s word for it, or Eminem’s. They do mention the fuckload of tracks they had, but Eminem straight up says they weren’t good The positive reception to Beautiful and the largely negative reception to the whole album was probably the straw that broke the camels back in terms of giving up the Relapse style and going with the Recovery style, I’ll give you that.
