Jul 19, 2024 Also interesting theory, either way, you know it’s a successful concept album when there is literally over 15 different great theories I’ve heard so far that all could work. Slim hemingway
Jul 19, 2024 Someone pointed that out too. Also, peep this: Again, bit of a reach but, on “Guess who’s back”, Ken says the same s--- that Slim says on “Habits” Yes, Ken is known to repeat but not word for word exactly. Edit: “Habits” Idk. I think this b------ really did pull off some “d---” s---.
Jul 19, 2024 s---…. Plus, on “Bad one” he says “I’m still alive” while his voice is dubbed with the evil sounding vocals. Which, those bars could also be a shot at Jay but that conversation is for another time. Lol
Jul 19, 2024 He's kinda popping now, but I don't see it happening. Maybe if Em cared enough to do TV/Radio performances with him.
Jul 19, 2024 Lmao he didn’t squash it he was killing slim shady just like he “killed” all them is how I took it
Jul 19, 2024 Well he tells slim he doesnt want slim no more so No more beef with will Smith, ja rule , MgK etc, it goes out for all of them. *a brief moment later* throwing jabs at MgK again.
Jul 19, 2024 It isn’t that crazy in all honesty. There are some great tracks on those 3 albums that I still listen to today such as: Remember Me White America Rock Bottom Role model As the world turns Till I collapse b---- please 2 Criminal My dads gone crazy The problem is the albums haven’t aged well imo. The shock bars are outdated and honestly kind of gross. Guilty conscience is f----- up. Crazy to think I used to find that song “funny” or “great.” It’s not so much that the music changed, but I have. I have adapted with the times. At the time the production sounded fresh and some tracks still do, but the Dre production is stale. Maybe it’s because it’s 20+ years old and I’m used to modern production. People look at these albums with rose tinted glasses. They have lots of filler like today’s albums and the features are worse back then than they are today. D12 was god awful let’s be honest. Beyoncé, Royce, Black Thought, Pink, Ed Sharon, are all examples of bigger and better artists to collab with. No one wants to hear about f---ing your mom, r---, the word fa----, murder, incest, etc in 2024. We also have songs like Soldier where the wannabe gangster and production is so cringe I can’t even start the song. Em isn’t hard and never has been. He is more in touch with himself these days. Relapse was dope (minus a few tracks) because it was a concept album that he stuck to, and didn’t actually take himself seriously. The production and accents have held up incredibly well. The mixing and mastering on that album is also incredible. Just pure fun nonsense. He could be more introspective from time to time in his early days and that’s why I don’t get why people don’t enjoy Revival. We literally got a first person look into his life, family, and relationships. I hope that helps you understand my mindset a bit better. I am not an idiot, and can see why those first 3 albums are so greatly hailed. They just ain’t for me anymore. In 2008 I thought they were the holy grail, but I believe he has surpassed those albums ten fold. Funny thing is, Em probably agrees.
Jul 19, 2024 We don’t talk enough about how RANDOM that skit is right before somebody save me?? like we do have a video in tobey of em with jason mask chainsawing Em and then we get Ken back? And then somebody save me? Like there are many better places for Ken to be at on the album. also considering the many skits and 40-50sec songs on the album to move the storyline, you telling me he didnt do a single skit after he killed slim? With Marshall coping with finally finished the job? there is more to it and That’s why the somebody save me video will be important because I think it Will create an oh s--- moment
Jul 19, 2024 This also plays into the magic aspect of the album. “And for my last trick” “Kidnapping, never happened” Making someone disappear but really didn’t. God dammit Marshall. Lol
Jul 19, 2024 The electric guitar towards the end of GC2 is so great man. Production on this album is very consistent outside a couple songs. im trying to force myself to love this thing lol.
Jul 19, 2024 What does he have in his bag Bruh?? A bag of Viagra?? btw I’m sure the chorus originally went ”abra abra cadabra, I go hard like viagra ” but thankfully someone called it out for being corny.
Jul 19, 2024 Someone named Tyler The Creator liked the theory I wrote, I am just going to assume it’s the real Tyler and that he knows it’s true. Ok cool. Confirmed
Jul 19, 2024 I def. agree about things like people having very rose tinted glasses when it comes to the first 3, especially first 2 which on which he was pretty juvenile and how cool it is getting an intro-perspective from him on Revival - I'm pretty disappointed in people still hating it but maybe it's just too mature for the average fan. I think my top 3 would be almost the same as yours, just with TES in the place of Revival, and Relapse ahead of MMLP2 because the production is just so much better and more consistent there. Just IMO a lot of the complains about his earlier work don't really apply to TES when it has more mature Em than Encore, MTBMB or Kamikaze for example, and generally touches a lot of subjects Revival touched. h--- take Solider, a pretty overrated track but he's talking about the media perception and not actually being a gangsta, so it's not thaaat bad.
