Jul 21, 2024 All opinions. But I think if you spoke to most, they'd have one of Tha Carter albums on their favourites. For me, Tha Carter II is a classic. I get what you mean, in the sense that he's done a lot of low level diluted s--- over the years, done experiments that didn't work (like Em), so I would put him a rung under your Ye's and Em's. But to say he's not had culture defining albums is just wrong.

Jul 21, 2024 Still enjoying the album loads, some tracks I weren't sure about have even grown on me, like Bad One (it was mainly because I wasn't keen on the first verse, so didn't give the song a chance). Same with Head Honcho, only part I kind of blank over is the part where he goes bilingual for a little bit too long, but it's not a big deal. But one i'm still struggling to get past is Road Rage. I skip it when it comes on if i'm listening properly. Hook isn't amazing, but it's fine. Quirky, amped up, whatever. Beat is so-so, but he's had worse. But I just can't get in to his verses. It genuinely sounds like he did a couple of demo verses for different songs, then copied and pasted them on. When the bridge comes about eating food, I sink in to my seat. But who knows, it might grow on me like others. Also, depending on your situation, songs hit different. When I was like 12, I used to bump Drips because I found it hilarious and loved the flow in the last part of Em's verse - Now, I skip it. I guess thats music.
Jul 21, 2024 Bad one kinda comes to life later on, first part is a little boring. He says mgk taking shots at him again is that true? Didn't see anyone mention that here lol I honestly don't dislike any song here. Just some parts like ez mills verse on HH, Eminems choppy verse on Evil, and Bad One first half bores me a little. And the bonus tracks I don't like at all I wouldn't replace any song on the album with them tbh

Jul 21, 2024 Is it just me or do the cancel culture bars / Caitlin Jenner references not stick out as bad so many listens later? It's a major criticism with the reviewers but what sticks out for me the most after multiple listens is how Eminem put out a really good album in 2024
Jul 21, 2024 Its so sad that he will probably read most reviews from hipsters that don't know s--- about his story, his past. So they will just think its weird not understanding the 'shady' character, his past, the flows and voices he uses, the references. This is a huge part of liking this album. Most fans (not anyone and thats fine) really appreciate this album and I totally agree its really good and enjoyable!
