Jul 21, 2024 JID's verse was dope and I love him but Em killed that s--- without a doubt. The larger point remains, rap audience in general is biased against Eminem and the political consciousness certainly plays a huge part in it. A lot of people pride themselves as lyricists but aren't judged as harshly as Em. Not saying that Em hasn't missed the mark occasionally especially with his recent music but a lot of rappers (incl. top guns like Kendrick) are given an easy pass that Em simply doesn't get. Em also prides himself more as a technically proficient rapper than a lyricist. Most reviewers conveniently ignore that aspect of the album
Jul 21, 2024 Like my s--- sounds like a throwaway version of GNAT bro. I mean if we must take off RR I wouldn't replace it with another average song

Jul 21, 2024 Good breakdown! Beyond satisfied is a good way to put it. Although I will admit I still have a soft spot for the shady XV stuff. I really will listen to any Em except most of the relapse accent stuff
Jul 21, 2024 I tried to listen to mmlp2 for the first time in years (the album as a whole). After Bad Guy and RoR there was So Much Better. g.d. the screaming is unlistenable lmao. And then came... Survival. Turned it off halfway. I will have a soft spot for some songs on there for sure but jezus the screaming makes it really hard to listen to. Thank god he only did it as a throwback on Antichrist
