Jul 24, 2024 MMLP2 is a bit messy in terms of sound, yes, but it's very clearly a rap-rock sound (Survival, Berzerk, So Far...) or a darker, boom bap, sound (Evil Twin, Brainless, Legacy). Cohesive sound is a spectrum though, so you'll have a lot of inbetweens and a good amount that don't really fit in the two main sounds which is fine. But to think that this thematically doesn't all fit together? C'mon, it's who Marshall is 10 years later. It's him realizing, for the first time, that he's aging. It's him maturing and coming to terms with the fact that he misjudged his own mother, and his dad deserves a lot more of the blame that he'll never let go. It's him acknowledging his place in hip hop, and realizing that his music affects people. It can cause a lot of unintentional pain, but it can inspire a generation of people who had the same troubles of him growing up. And it's him fully exploring the duality of Marshall Mathers and Slim Shady; Who he is as a kid that nobody liked growing up but wanted to be liked, and who he is as a rapper who everybody likes but couldn't care less to be liked. You can fully argue how well these ideas are explored, and how well they're executed, but it's a very cohesive and themeatic album.

Jul 25, 2024 I agree that he should rap like he flows when he brings shady and thats the style we as fans want. Musically way better to listen to then that choppy flow is there any hope for his next album for him yo just flow like shady? Those flows on the last 4 tracks are ao lame compared to when he tried to sound like his old self why would he not? When listening to the album everytime he got in that old em pocket it was the highlight of the song i need more of that
