Jul 31, 2024 Yeah it's a very underrated element of what made his albums feel glued together. Other than production, the Eminem show had a varied set of rap and musical styles... But Em doing basically all the hooks really helps the songs feel as one. But, I'm not saying tdoss doesn't. It's surprising looking back how few hooks he did do...bc the album feels very consistent and cohesive. But is because everything is kinda in the same vein and his rap styles too. And production. He Def figured it out a lot more than usual that's for sure.

Jul 31, 2024 Yeah, tryna figure out why it all sounds so much better. Hook too, as you say leagues above previous, even though you could say they're in similar veins... I think like with his flows, and his bridge there... it's partly bc he's allowing more space between bars and notes and moments, which like... MMLP had a lot of 'know why I say these things? (beat) cause ladies dreams... ' etc. as opposed to like this... consta-flow or just sounding so forceful or strained. I dunno. He just found a way to restrain himself more in ways, but, without it feeling forcefully restrained like on... like before TDoSS... he'd been tryna slow it down on some things like 'Parables' or even the 'Adventures of Moon Man' verse but, and I love the 'Moon Man' verse but even that and those verses... feels like he's trying to FORCE himself to like, subdue his town and just not burst open like a fkn machine gun... TDoSS don't feel like that. The flows are genuinely musical again, have genuine space and timing, ups and downs. And more talky-human tonalities.
