Sep 13, 2024 True but without that flow it would just sound like a s-----y youtube ai song. It’s impressive he can basically switch to flow from any era. It’s something people doubted he can still do.
Sep 13, 2024 Gave in and bought the expanded version just for the new fuel verse. Boogie and grip deserve support more than em, though. My only complaint is how the promo was handled. It is what it is.
Sep 13, 2024 Voice definitely plays a big role. I know for a fact I would like DoSS a lot less if he used his modern voice for all of it. It would drop my 8/10 rating to at least a 7/10.
Sep 13, 2024 Oh no for sure it just makes me realize how much I wish he’d stop using his side B voice (like my s---)
Sep 13, 2024 It’s honestly not that different tbh it just doesn’t have the layering of the vocals literally all he’s gotta do lol
Sep 13, 2024 Not really, he wanted recapture himself with Relapse but he rapped with accents. It wasn't voice thing, it was his writing, he tried to rhyme words by bending pronounciations. He completely wanted find a new sound with Recovery and he kept that motivation with MMLP2. He didn't wanna sound like him old self after Relapse anyway, I don't think he ever tried to rap like in TES untill Stepping Stone (not even sure that was intentional, maybe it was just the way he wrote the rhymes in that s---). But it's not just about the sound of his voice, it's also the style of writing the cadence, the flow etc. Let's be specific, I don't think Fuel Remix has AI at all. It's just the editing of his vocals, layering and s---. With the Slim Shady voice he might need some help from AI to recreate the pitchy, nasal s--- which hasn't really aged that well, Just listen to SSLP and DOSS back to back, both production and his voice sounds so much better in DOSS, it's not really the same. His voice changed since early 00s for sure, but you can still hear the difference. But TES voice is so much closer to his current voice, it's not that hard to do when he actually rhymes and writes like he used to do in TES era plus the layering and s---. But whatever, nothing I say will matter. It's impossible to change anybody's opinion anyway, I'M just sayin. We gotta wait if he ever addresses it on an interview or maybe even a song lol.
Sep 13, 2024 Ok wow. The remix is f---ing hot fire. Boogie and Grip sounded great and Em almost outdid his og verse. I gotta listen a bunch more times.
Sep 13, 2024 I told ya’ll I don’t lie man I saw the screenshot!! @RG9 …. Remember this man for future reference. Lmao.
Sep 13, 2024 All this yapping but yet when he performs his old songs in concert he sounds nothing like he did when he used to perform them go ahead and explain that one for me since you think he can sound like he used to without the help of AI voice filters.
Sep 13, 2024 Mfs talking about layering and reverb acting like that is what makes him sound like The Eminem Show LOL! Are yall against AI or something?
Sep 13, 2024 I wonder if this is the og version and boogie and grip got f----- like 2 chainz with chloraseptic lol either way the energy is crazy
Sep 13, 2024 I mean sonically it does more so the layering but 90% of TES sound comes from him layering and rapping in a higher register. Doesn’t replicate flow or content, but sound wise absolutely
Sep 13, 2024 Not exactly true neither. I remember so many occasions after 2010 where people here said he sounded like 03 Em rapping his old songs live. We haven't really got much to judge it from lately but I know people were saying why can't he use that voice when makes songs today, he sounded exactly like his old self blah blah.
Sep 13, 2024 rapping on stage and in the studio is way different lmao I also dont think he used AI in this verse this is just raw 2024 pissed of Em
Sep 13, 2024 I'm against ignorant people keep mentioning AI when they barely know s--- about it. I know guys like that would have called Ken Kaniff voice an AI, TES voice AI, his imitation voices like when he does Cartman or something like that an AI if it was a thing back then. Castle, Stepping Stone an AI. Maybe even his Relapse accents were AI lmao.
Sep 13, 2024 He was never trying to imitate his older styles or voice though. Always trying to invent new styles and sounds. New rap styles. People act like Recovery is him sounding older or shot, it's like... no, he's consciously shouting like that and creating a different style lol. Like, same with Relapse... it's a total choice of a style... I think all TDOSS is, other than the actual blatant AI use like on GC2, is just him using his natural tone again and not trying to reinvent rapping or come up with a totally new tone (they expect me to reinvent the wheel) or style, which is basically what he's been tryna do every album since Relapse. Probably in part why he thought of the concept or, had an excuse to use the concept to give himself a day off from trying to come up with a totally new sound. Bc as much as we love TDOSS... it's because he sounds like older him in tone etc. bc he's dropping the attempt at new tones and cadences... it's just his voice. And people think it's AI bc he's been tryinig so much s--- until now. But bc of the concept, aka 'shady's back one more time!', he probably thought 'I can have a day off tryna come up with a new sound and just rap'. And so because fans hear that natural tone again they're like WOW AI! CAN'T BE, HE CAN'T DO THAT!... he hasn't been trying. Where between the I'LL BE SCREAMING ON THESE WHORES TILL IM HOARSE!!! and betterwatchoutsuckanowigotchawhereiwantcha... and yooodaaalayy'ayyywhooo... is he tryna sound anything like himself from sslp, mmlp or tes. Totally diff tones, and styles and cadences. He was trying to capture the mood, content and essence yeah, but never trying to imitate the sound.
