Nov 18, 2024 Hip-hop legend LL Cool J dropped by Capital XTRA Breakfast to talk about his new album “The FORCE” — his first in ten years — and, naturally, one of the highlights he wanted to talk about was his collaboration with Eminem on the track “Murdergram Deux”. When asked about memorable moments from recording his latest album, LL Cool J responded: When I made “Murdergram” with Em. Q-Tip was playing a beat, he was messing around with a keyboard. I was like, “Yo, it would be perfect for me and Eminem”. I took a beat and texted it to Eminem, like, “What do you think?” He hit me back, “Yo, it’s crazy!” Then we went to LA, and we recorded it at Dr Dre’s studio. Dre gave us the keys from the studio, and we ran up in the joint and jumped to record the record and all that. And I just remember that vibe becoming such an amazing moment, the way it was sounding to me. Because the sound was so progressive and aggressive, and dynamic, and just so unexpected. It was that kind of moments. As if that was not enough to excite fans, LL Cool J hinted at some upcoming UK tour dates
Nov 18, 2024 My medicine cabinet's big enough to fit a cab in it Tablets, I split like half of this capsule, it's travelin' like a javelin Through my abdomen, my stomach's unravelin' Might end up havin' Slim say some s--- you feel f----- up for laughin' at This is like something straight out of 1999/2000. The AI sounds so good too.
Nov 18, 2024 Murdergram is one of the most surprising growers for me and I think a lot maybe. When I first heard the snippet, the leaked s--- about the 'tv tray' I was like ARGH, this is a---. And I still hate that part tbh, just sounds like that typical nonsense 'fast flow' he kept doing around the time, and the lines s---. But, up until that, the back n forth, and the hook... and just vibe... it's kinda fun.
Nov 18, 2024 Yeah thas hella 99/00ish. I was so happy when I heard that... just the emphasis on word sounds but not overstuffing syllables or anything. And what he's saying; hella vintage.
Nov 18, 2024 It's p good asf tbh. The mixture of s---, of show-offy s---, how it sounds, the flows, switch-ups, humour... The r-a-p-e-r / p diddy part is lowkey genius.
Nov 18, 2024 Murdergram grew on me too even though I was very lukewarm on it at first. And even more surprising is it might be the only Eminem song with a black person where not only did I not cut the black person out, but instead cut one of Eminem's verses short:
Nov 18, 2024 That whole 2nd verse, especially that part, is my favorite from the whole album. Sounds straight out of Devil's Night.
Nov 18, 2024 Yeah a lot of the delivery on TDOSS does... the best s--- on it @ Devil's Night. Which is great bc Devil's Night style was arguably his best, most compelling; perfect clarity, energy and rhtyhm, but we got so little of it.
Nov 19, 2024 BLM? them d--- black folks... that s---'s a wack hoax I'm jus kiddin', I like to crack jokes!
