    And Friday night lights is special.. I can’t wait for that episode, and them to drop it on streaming.. I remember when that dropped.. it was a cold November night, might’ve been snowing that night too.. it’s special cause that was the first cole project I experienced it dropping in real time, I had to go back and hear the other tapes.. plus it dropped a few months after I had discovered cole s--- so that was even more special

    The way they talking bout the label wanting a hit and jay.. that s--- was stressing them , I’m glad they got over that hump cause goddamnnnnnnnn , s--- making me frustrated hearing them talk about it lol..

    Jay robbed Cole of a classic debut album with FNL. Cole got cucked! Jay was at Diddy parties and then screwed Cole out of making FNL an album. d---. Sideline Story has some gems, but overall can’t touch FNL.

    The warm up and Friday night lights got me through 11th/12th grade years.. projects probably helped me mature and changed my mind set now that I think back on them years.

    yea, but I think everything went how it was suppose to go, them projects helped his career, if he didn’t put them out the way he put them out s--- would probably be different for him.. I know he say he wanted a CLASSIC debut, but i don’t think it’s that deep, a lot of rappers come with classic debuts and then people stay hooked to them projects and won’t let go, and people be swearing they never topped their debut, Nas for example. Pac ain’t have a classic debut and he the goat imo, he got better with each album, he was elevating up until he died.

    You got this right. The failures of this time is just a microcosm of why he's great and why he connects with so many people. If he was just the chosen one. And it was all so easy. You would be in awe of his technical ability and love hm as a rapper but we wouldn't still be in this forum all these years later if that's who he was. He's the guy that gets cut from the team. The dude that gets rejected by a legend and keeps going. The dude that gets the meeting with Jay and steps in dog s--- on the way. Who gets the deal and then gets pulled over and spends the night in county. That has a great introduction as an artist and then loses his confidence. And the through line there is a belief in self, a belief in doing the work, a perseverance. Starts and stops. And coming back stronger after every time you get knocked down. That's his blueprint. And that's why so many people love him.

    Thankful for y'all for real. They've talked so much about A Crime, Confessions and Nightrider that I do think we're going to get the directors cut of SS tomorrow. Tales From The Sideline is what I think it was originally called. Give us the original cover too.
