After a full day of driving around and listening. Yeah the album is nice. Snoop’s rapping still sounds fresh and very impressive…. Tho it’s very obvious all of this was ghostwrites. Lmfao
But still gotta give him roses and credit for all the flows and styles. Very versatile compared to his signature sound. Yeah this should have been way more west coast influenced considering he is one of the kings of the west, and has Dre all over the album. This would have been amazing like 15 years ago… but in today’s music climate idk if this will be getting bumped in a month. Pressure & Hard knocks are my favorite along with the Eminem & 50 collab for obvious reasons. Music wise probably the best sounding I e heard since his 2000’s stuff with Pharrell. But I’m not the biggest snoop fan so I can’t comment on his discography outside of his classics

Snoop has a lot of duds. But he also has albums that are slept on. He has at least 6 solid albums if you ask me

Storch and Elizondo take the cake for me.

D Parker gets an honorable mention for absolutely killing almost every beat on Relapse. And I still listen to Black Boy Fly to this day.

I wouldn’t go that far. Last Meal is also nice. That’s 4 for me.

Didn’t care enough to listen. The single he shot a vídeo for had a cool beat but nothing else really, just him doing voices and saying nothing.

Peak Dre for me is The Big b---. If I am checking headphones or whatever, the intro track (Get You Some) is one of those tunes I'll demo. The mixing is just perfect, it sounds massive and crisp. In contrast, I found Compton to be a bit tinny, and generally the same for everything since. For such a perfectionist, and someone who never drops, I've been really disappointed in how Dre's recent stuff has sounded.

Lock it Up on MTBMB was nice though. That felt a bit like old times.

What headphone(s) are you currently rocking? Good call on using big b---, I would usually use 2001 for that. Agreed on Compton being tinny in nature, I think it can sound good with some eq tuning though. The vinyl copy also sounds nicer to me (Compton).

pretty bad album lol some of these Dre beats are awful. Eminem robot flow and 50 sounds geriatric as f--- and needs to hang it up too

Snoop still sounds pretty smooth esp for being like 53 yrs old so it's a shame so many of these beats (and songs overall) are asswater

After sounding like a pretentious audiophile, I confess that I currently own nothing but some s-----y wired apple headphones ha. I'd like to hear Compton on vinyl though.

The fact he almost didn’t include Thank You and that wasn’t one of the first few singles is wild. Makes me think he’s got tons of beats like that he just hasn’t quite finished or doesn’t think are good enough…When most are probably better than 80% of Missionary.

I really enjoy this album. I never expected it to be a classic, and it is definitely not, but it's really good for what it is. A bunch of laid-back, poppy, feel-good songs for Christmas time. If I want to listen to serious, artsy rap, I'll listen to GNX. I'll be bumping both albums a lot in the following weeks.

I’ve had this in rotation for sure. A pleasant surprise and Dre was on it a few times which was nice to see. I was worried he only produced it.

The tracks he released as throwaways for the "The Contract" GTA DLC are better than much of the material on this album.
