Jan 21, 2025 It is quite a hypnotic beat, and one of the better / usually insufferable Skylar hooks... Some actually good writing on it too. But just the overall sound, it's just unpleasant to hear. Similar to how... Infinite always gets ranked last or next to last by fans but... the rapping is actually great, the hooks mostly are, there's some really great writing and songs on it; 'it's OK' for example is legit better writing than some of his recent personal s---. Not really 1 blemish on it to me either. And I enjoy basically all the songs on it. But I just get this sense I can never rank it that high, and I think it's the mixing / overall sound, it just sounds muddy. Nothing to do with the overused 'he sounds like AZ and Nas!' by Em fans though, half of which haven't even listened to either lmao, and just overuse that bc Em said it; when, in all actuality - he sounds like AZ on the title track and there's undercurrents of Nas for sure, but mostly... does not sound like either of them, and you can still tell this is a new and unique talent. I mean what fkn Nas song sounds like 'Open Mic', it's just the laid back tonal delivery, but Em's writing is way different.
Jan 21, 2025 Lmaoo, exactly. Really stupid example. 'Hey, look to prove our theory Spotify are conspiring against our artist - look, they show this song when you type a related artist, with a similar fanbase, who've made music together and are associated! Wtf? Strange huh!?' Cambodian psychadelic rock lmao. Yeah, that would be weird. Or fkn, Billie Eilish... 'did you mean 'Not Like Us' by Kendrick Lamar?' with a snyposis on how Drake is a peado. What a weak a--- move too, Drake made himself look a total beyatch. Fkn suing in a rap beef. One of the lamest moves ever. What exactly I always thought he was though.
Jan 21, 2025 Amazing beat and Sylar hook, even better than Tragic Endings'. Eminem's verses though are just OK for me, not so much the lyrics as the vocals. I mean what, did he use up all his emotion in the Recovery era? He wasn't joking when he said "I grow colder the older I grow". But at some point that becomes a bad thing, especially for a musician. That's why I really liked GC2. It was the first time in years he's sounded so passionate.
Jan 22, 2025 I think he's just trying to sound different though, just a different style and tonality. Not that he's out of passion, he wants to sound diffy, so toned that down.
Jan 22, 2025 Yeah well I'm not a fan of that low-effort, "I've done it all so I don't have to bother trying anymore" "style" he was using before DoSS. I call it Music to be Lullabied By for a reason.
Jan 22, 2025 I was gonna say this, both Warren and Snoop had mentioned this not too long ago, they might do it as a 213 album even, and possibly via Death Row…
Jan 22, 2025 There’s no way we have another 4 year wait between albums right? Surely we get a new Eminem album by 2026? I know DoSS didn’t come out that long ago but I’m just saying lol he’s getting up there in age and these 4 year waits are really bad in the TikTok era. I know they still wanna pull some decent numbers with these albums.
