That is a span of 4 years from 2001 to 2005. It’s only been 1 year and this beef been dragged out that whole year

What Jay and Nas said about each other was nastier and more “hurtful” than the short lived battle between Cole and Kendrick though. I wouldn’t think it’d take 4 years to be cool with one another after what went down last year. Maybe we’ll see one day in the near future, maybe we won’t. Just ready for The Fall Off at this point.

Kendrick and Cole can definitely make up, what was said really wasn’t that bad. Kendrick and Drake on the other hand? I don’t think they’re ever making up.

Of course Cole didn’t post anything about the lineup. Why promote your own festival??

Do yall think cole them are just waiting for the right time to drop the fall off?? I lowkey feel like right now ain’t the right time, cause everybody still caught up in the kdot and drake s---… maybe they hesitating to drop it right now… hip hop in a weird space right now due to that lame a--- beef, that whole s--- did worse than it did good. I feel like somebody got to get s--- back to normal , that’s why I feel like dreamville should do another invite ROTD session, bring some unity back to the culture. That n----- kdot lowkey divided the culture, just cause of his ego.. I feel like years from now ppl gon be looking back at the whole situation hella different lol

Involuntary psych hold and consistent medication and therapy is what he needs. And to stay out of the limelight. He has been out of control and off his meds for a while. He’s not thinking clearly and needs help.

I've had depression since I was a little kid. Had some dark experiences way too young and have the family history too. I was an addict but I've been clean for a while. I'm 35 now and feel like I've been on a good trajectory for the last 10 or so years. I think it's important to remember that it's a medical condition and not an inherent, unchangeable part of your identity as a person. I always felt some kind of like warped pride about my coping ability and ability to push on. That's just a tentacle of the monster keeping you in its grip.

I can tell you that finding the right type of therapy, the right doctor and finally the right medication gave me the clarity to be able to pursue the lifestyle necessary to finding balance and some peace. Those things would be having a healthy, consistent diet, getting enough sleep, spending time outside, reading, helping other people and putting your self (ego) in the proper place in the universe. Under a god, or whatever your conception of spirituality is, and then under your responsibility to your family and the people you care about. Those things all make you feel fulfilled and are everlasting across time.

Hope you can get something from that and find some peace.

    100. The realest line of 7MD was "how ironic, soon as I got it, now he want something with me". I think he was probably like dude wtf are you taking away from my moment for. I've done nothing but boost you up publicly and behind the scenes. Played the bronze with grace.

It was an ugly look for Dot. Inauthentic and jealous, which I also think is why the music doesn't hit your heart.

Having said that, I don't think it has an impact on the release. I'm certain that Ib and everyone with a say cares about that. EXCEPT Cole. And whatever he says goes. They do elaborate rollouts and tours which all have to be wrapped up and are very meticulous He says at the end of the Off-season promo vid that it's the most ambitious thing he's ever done. So I think its just a lot of behind the scenes work that all needs to happen just right and if you miss a window you gotta try again next year lol. After TFO I'm selling out Wrigley. It's probably hard to book Wrigley lol. I said it once, I said it a million times. THE LAST EVER FESTIVAL baring their name has to be part of that timing and rollout. How could it not??? And it ain't 2014, you can't announce a release date thats like months in advance. It still has to be like a week or two week notice and jam in your entire rollout in that time

You guys really believe Kendrick has ever been jealous of J Cole? :lmaooo:
The inverse is more likely, Cole has said as much.

Kendrick just holds competition in hip hop as sacrosanct. Cole was rapping way to competively over the past couple of years to be taken aback by any of this. Cole should have never pretended to be on that bully s---, it's not like it was serving his music. He's grown so much technically but he need to get back on that earnest soulful rap on the fall off.

Cole has absolutely been jealous of Dot over the years, particularly in the 2011-2014 years. I'm the biggest Cole fan that there is and he never was higher than Dot or Drake last decade.

I think that the only time you could credibly say that Cole was at the top, and that's still debatable, was the time that Kendrick decided to push the button on the Drake beef which was inevitably going to result in the amount of attention it got. Which was always going to spoil Coles moment, whether or not Cole put out 7MD. He could've gone at Drake or Cole any time in the last fifteen years. He went when Cole was at his highest and Dot was at his lowest. Tf you call that?

Dot was jealous of The Game and Aaron Afflalo lmao, you think he didn't feel a way about Cole being considered the best rapper alive, killing the features, being called the only competitive rapper by legends. He obviously was because, he said, "bet" and pushed the button.

Gotta stop being obsessed with drama as a fanbase and realize these guys are humans and also were (and probably still are) friends. Kendrick never went back at Cole during the whole beef after the apology and even noted that Drake tried to drag him into the beef in "Not Like Us". Don't think there's anything there and Cole really isn't about making enemies

Kendrick indeed felt challenged & seeing Drake and Cole 'hugging & kissing on stage' obviously made him feel some type of way, but that's hip hop man lol. n----s ain't gonna just stand back and applaud while Cole has his moment, you can't have center stage all to yourself. Drake & Kendrick always understood competition.

I more so put the onus on Cole for cosplaying as a competitive rapper. In 2017 he said this: 'For so long my mind state was, I have to show how much better than the next man I am through these bars. Who’s the best? Let me prove it. And it’s just like, d---, I’m really feeding into a cycle of keeping black people down, I’m really feeding into that.' :lmaooo: WTF.

Then all a sudden the n----- runnin round like he rap grim reaper smh. Cole had an identity crisis man, all the discomfort he experienced during the beef was him facing himself.

Can't argue with that. Man that quote is BRUTAL smh. Jermaine! Look 2017 era, everyone was on some bs lmao. I think it's very fair too on your first point that Cole and Ib didn't strike when the iron was hot. By not putting out the album or starting the roll out, they gave space to Dot to come in and do what he did. I wish that Kendrick would've relaunched his career by just making great music but it is what it is. That's ultimately all I care about. I'm going to be listening to GKMC til I'm in the ground. Can't say the same for the s--- he put out last year, cuz I just don't think it's at that caliber. If dude puts out a song as good as Sing About Me again in his career, I'll be very happy.

Thank you for the message, I appreciate it! I relate to you in the sense that I’ve also been depressed since I was a little kid. I never had much of a family that cared about me and have been close to suicide many times, even when I was a kid. My father didn’t want me and my mother barely did either so I had to rely on friends for any sort of relationships. Thankfully these days I am not doing as bad. I think it was 2017 when I started going to therapy. I fell off of that for a while. 2022 I really began my true journey to fixing my mental health. Ever since then I’ve slowly been getting better. I’ve been getting my money up and slowly accomplishing my big life goals

It’s not about drama it’s about being realistic. I find it unrealistic to assume everything is sunshine and rainbows for Cole and Kendrick. I’m not saying they hate each other I’m just saying they might not be on the best of terms, certainly not on good enough terms for Kendrick to perform at Dreamville fest.

If we are being realistic if there was real drama, i doubt SZA, Schoolboy, Ab-Soul would be performing at Dreamville and I doubt Daylyt and Punch would be defending or promoting Cole.

I also doubt Cole would release that podcast talking about their relationship and those underground Kendrick songs without Kenny knowing.

I swear yall people love beef so bad hahah

I’m not saying there’s “drama”. Not being on the best of terms with someone doesn’t automatically mean there’s drama. It just means your relationship could be better and might not be where it used to be. Like I said before, Kendrick is his own man. Just because TDE is rocking with Cole doesn’t mean Kendrick is besties with him right now. I’m over the beef and have been since around the Super Bowl. I moved on to other things like The Weeknd’s album, Playboi Carti’s album, etc.
