Mar 8, 2016 I said Johnson above was the worst president of all time (in terms of foreign policy). I criticized Wilson on WW1, but his mistakes weren't nearly the blunders of W Bush in Iraq. With FDR, WWII was an essential conflict, it was an honest cause, we won it, there were positive results. Iraq wasn't necessary, there were no WMD's, we had nothing to win and the middle east is destabilized now.

Republicans chose to embrace segregation and our racist past and the Democrats chose to move forward.

Obviously, racism didn't end in the Democratic party or anywhere else in 1964... there's definitely racist Democrats even today. The difference is the destruction of racism is a plank of the Progressive Movement which is embraced by the Democratic party... It isn't a plank in the Conservative Movement and front runner for the GOP nomination is running a campaign of White Nationalism.
Mar 8, 2016 At the state level, voter ID laws. At the national judicial level the Conservative Supreme's overturned the 1965 Voting Rights Act. At the national level the PATRIOT ACT and the provisions in it that all but overturn the 4th Amendment. Arizona SB1070 that completely eliminates the 4th Amendment rights in Arizona. That's off the top of my head... there is a lot more.

Years ago when a black applicant applied to rent an apartment in one of his buildings staff would write a "C" ontop of the application. The "C" stood for "coloured" and was automatically denied... according to the Department of Justice. Ted Cruz has said the media is holding back on exposés and information they want to use against Donald Trump... which is only a half truth. There is a lot of damaging information out there in the nexus about Donald Trump's past racist business practices... they're just not getting blown up by SuperPACs yet because Ted Cruz/Marco/Kasich need Trump's racist supporters in the General. They're hoping that things that are already known but under reported won't be on every other commercial on TV and radio.... and they won't unless Trump wins the primary.
