Jid Wrk was cool, it was everything that I expected it to be.
Bas and the Hics, Everyday Ppl is very vibey
Omen’s Alibi was good, the chorus is my favorite part.
Ari Soft Girl Era gets better with every listen.

I don't even think Ari's on Dreamville anymore not on paper anyway, her soft girl era copyright just says 'Interscope Records' not 'Dreamville/Interscope'.
The only artist still releasing through Dreamville/Interscope is Jid. Everybody else is Dreamville with an independent distributor.
E.g Cozz is Dreamville/195 Oak Inc, Earthgang is ST80s/Dreamville under exclusive license to United Masters, Bas is Dreamville/FIENDS, Omen just Dreamville Records.

d---… I ain’t even peeped none of this lol. So they did exactly what I wanted them to do.. that’s why everybody finally get to release their s--- lol. Who from dreamville in this chat????

This the perfect scenario, and the way it should be now, every go out find your own distribution situation, cause interscope def won’t helping, but with JID.. I said JID was the only one that seem like he was doing fine under dreamville / interscope, everybody else needed to be independent. n----s not making money off music no way, n----s like them, should be releasing music for the love, it’s other ways to get the money now. Interscope had their music hostage

Let’s see how interscope treat Ari if she signed directly to them now .. see if they put the big money behind her , see if she blow.. this gon tell us what we need to know, rather dreamville was the problem or interscope, or if she just not meant to blow up BIGGGG… dreamville still promoting her, ain’t see nothing on interscope ig bout her single.

Basic hook on WRK, but it works…pun may be intended. JID flows his a--- off per usual. Don’t think it’ll blow up like Surround Sound and that’s alright. It’s a fun song. Hope Cole is featured on the album.

JID song is hard. It's literally exactly what I expected, which to me is his fatal flaw as an artist. I saw he said he didn't feel like he got the respect he deserved after his last album. I don't feel like he puts it all on the line. I don't feel like he takes risks artistically. I still don't feel like I really know anything about who he is or what he believes in. Or what he's trying to accomplish.

Anyone else remember on the pod when Ib and Cole were talking about how they have the exact opposite approach to artist development that Hov had? But they conceded that their approach was flawed as well and some of their artists could potentially go further if they got what Cole got. That's JID. His career, to me, is what would've happened if Hov let Cole get away with Who Dat as a lead single.

Pretty disappointing that he showed up instead of The Rock. Boring main event.
