    This is 100% correct.

In the industry, Cole’s problem is a widespread loss of credibility and respect due to the way he’s carried himself over the past year.

This is a musical problem as well — all the material with “I’m the best” and “I’ll k--- anyone who steps to me” has been permanently archived because those sentiments no longer carry any weight when it comes to J. Cole. Given Cole’s ethos over the past 4-5 years, he’s boxed himself into a creative corner.

It’s a sad situation, but very much a self inflicted wound.

The message board narrative is different than what most hip hop fans think. The message board narrative is for the most part made up of Kendrick, Tyler and Carti fans. They all have a lot of active followers online and are loud and opinionated. I posted on here before the Reddit followers of those three compared to Cole. Majority of Cole and hip hop fans aren’t that deep into the internet like those three artists fans. Cole has a lot of people on his side but they aren’t loud on the outside internet. If you can get 100,00 of people to show up to your festival you’re doing something right. And there’s another 100,000 who would’ve loved to be there, too. This thread is an outlier but most Cole fans and hip hop fans in general think differently than the internet narrative

So do we think he's going before JID and Bas or after? I watched the podcast clip. Idk seems pretty thin to me. They could be talking about anything. I'm more persuaded by the lil cole text and Ib's post. I still feel like they wouldn't just do a surprise drop. I feel like they'd want to let Ib, the king of the rollouts, cook for this last one. But who knows?

Donda 2 on streaming is the big thing DJ Hed was referring to? lol

Cole probably isn’t dropping anything soon.

It’s probably Kendrick going after everyone again. Probably a Cole diss in there. And it’ll push TFO back even more

I can’t imagine actually still being a Kanye fan. His music isn’t even good enough to put up with the antics anymore. He’s washed and everyone knows it except for his Stans that are in denial

He hasn't had a good album post Pablo. But Pablo and earlier is untouchable IMO.

I mostly agree but I liked the ye album and parts of Donda 1 as well as KIDS SEE GHOSTS and Vultures 1 but those are collab albums. Jesus Is King was not good, Donda 1 as a whole was not good because of the messy tracklist, vultures 2 was absolute dogshit and one of the worst albums of 2024

Bas just made a post on IG with the caption " the push off 2025". I commented and said after the push off comes the falloff. He liked the comment. They all hinting at it but not giving no real info :emoji_sob:

I am telling you for a fact that the industry narrative very closely mirrors the internet narrative.

This opinion is widely held, all the way from execs to fellow artists — including some of the greats.

Not really, music execs just care about profits and on top of that theres so much more that goes into it behind the scenes then what the media cares about. Music execs dont care if a guy has a large reddit page. Its only the media who cares about clicks.
