Thought this episode was decent but the writing and direction for Ellie and Dina together is horrendous. It’s like 4 different people are writing and having their hand in how they handle them together and it’s just a mess. What makes the episode great is what it’s always has been good at is the lore, action and set pieces. Set pieces are out this world. Love the Issac backstory and how he radicalised one of his followers came to be. Show is doing a bad job at making Ellie seem dangerous and unhinged, which is the whole point of theme of part 2 story and even though it wasn’t great in the game, it’s just non-existent with the show. Subway section and TV station with the hanged Scars is just great TV and how to faithfully adapt a game to an show.

True. Ellie doesn’t really seem all that vengeful either. It feels like Joel has barely even been mentioned or thought of. I wouldn’t blame the uninformed watchers in the audience if they sometimes forget why Ellie and Dina are even going on this journey to begin with. The game hammered home Ellie’s vengeance and that’s barely here so far. Ellie was a complete a------ to Dina in the game a lot of the time but here she’s sweet and accepting of her.

It seems like both Ellie and Abby have really been nerfed in this show. Ellie so far is way too soft to seem vengeful or threatening, being disgusted and horrified by things way too easily. Abby has no muscle and so far hasn’t been shown to be a skilled fighter either. Considering the crazy s--- that has happened, the stakes don’t feel that high at all especially compared to the game. Hopefully things start to pick up in these last 3 episodes and sets up season 3 in a decent way. I am still worried about how the pacing of this story is playing out. If these issues keep up we could run into some major problems down the line.
