    RIPPER ROO’S RATING: 8/10

These guys have such a signature and nasty rap delivery it’s so awesome. I’ve heard so much hip hop music that it’s not often I get impressed over lines anymore, but on Hello New World when Pusha said, “I found poetry, excuse me, Floetry / Say yes, n----s hear the "yuugh" and they know it's me,” it made me give the stank face. Not only because of how true it is with that being Pusha’s signature adlib, but how it’s also a reference to an R&B duo named Floetry and their song “Say Yes”. Despite this being from 2006, most of the beats still sound great today (except for Trill, I don’t like the beat, hook, or flows on that song).

My main issue with this album that stops me from giving it a 9 or 10 is the hooks. That Slim Thug hook hearing his voice saying Wamp Wamp just sounds so stupid to me and so repetitive. Pharrell’s hook on Hello New World doesn’t work for me, his singing on that track is not good and does not fit the song. And as I mentioned earlier, I dislike Trill as a whole but it contains yet another repetitive and bad sounding hook from Pharrell. The hook on Keys Open Doors is extremely repetitive but at least it doesn’t sound bad. Same with Ain’t Cha. These bad hooks really started to add up but in most cases the songs were saved by the verses and good enough (except for Trill, gotta be the worst song on the album).

I might not be giving this the high score of a 9 or 10, but it’s still a great album. There’s a bunch of bars I could dive into and quote all day, but I don’t feel like it. But despite some of these bad, repetitive hooks I can still see why this album has legendary status even if I didn’t rate it 10/10. This has me looking forward to the new Clipse album even more especially with that new dope single So Be It they just dropped. @AOTWClub

Travis proved himself to be a flip flopper especially during the Kendrick v Drake beef

The Beatles - The White Album Review

So yeah I haven't listened to the Beatles for so long other than some I heard on the radio, at parties etc. Nice pick!!

I mostly enjoyed the more 'upbeat' songs from the album, like Back in the USSR. Probably my favorite song on the album, it's perfect! Glass Union is another example.

Not a fan of the obilaba song or whatever. Bit too happy for me lol. I also like Don't Pass Me By, Birthday, Yer Blues, Everybody Got Something To Hide, Helter Skelter, Revolution (another personal favorite) & Savoy Truffle.

The more calm songs are obviously not bad but less my thing. Hey Jude ugh I'm so tired of hearing that song lmao.

Very solid album, never bothered to put on their album so thanks again for AOTW club and especially @Yeez in this case!

    8/10 @AOTWClub

Pusha T and Kendrick should throw some shots at Drake on the album

    Since they both murdered him

    The White Album:

This marks the first Beatles record I've ever actually listened to! Mark it up to being a contrarian but I never had a huge want to visit any of their discography until semi recently as I've gained an even bigger appreciation for 60s early inception of harder rock music. I also see people in here saying that they've heard most of the songs here which I have not, only vaguely familiar with Happiness Is A Warm Gun, and I obviously know Helter Skelter

Now sadly I almost always seem to get busier on the weeks where longer albums get chosen so I have to hit you with the Jank classic "I wish I could've spent more time with it before the deadline" but I'm only saying that cause I really enjoyed this!

Longer records can be hit or miss for me but something about this era of music makes it an easier pill to swallow, this album has a good variety of sound and intensity to break up the pacing in a breezy way without sacrificing the core sound of the album which I really appreciate.

For a 30 song album only having a few tracks that didn't connect with me is a pretty big accomplishment, idk why I'm surprised that one of the most lauded bands of all time would be able to do that for me but I am lmao. Great instrumentals, interesting songwriting, well mixed. Basically everything you could ask for from something like this. A perfect chores album.

I will say sound wise Disc 1 worked for me better personally but Disc 2 has plenty of great and interesting tracks as well, like Revolution 9 isn't something I'd listen to outside of the context of the record but I really appreciate that it's there. Also a couple songs that grew on me as they went on like Piggies and Rocky Raccoon (both on the first disc but just thinking of examples of stuff I wasn't completely sold on).

Only song I didn't really like was Honey Pie, something about the instrumental was off for me, it's almost too Circusy? But I also respect it for that? Lmao

Favorite Songs: Back In The U.S.S.R., While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Happiness Is A Warm Gun (always heard this song referenced but haven't heard it before, it's great!), I'm So Tired, Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey (song is fun but a very stupid inside joke between me and my brother made me like it a lot more lmao), Helter Skelter (shout out Manson), Revolution 1

    Overall:
Really enjoyed this project, had a great flow and showcases why people love The Beatles while giving me a sneaking suspicion there will be other projects from them that I love much more which speaks to the quality of the collective cause I really enjoyed this. Would give it a higher score than what I landed on but think there's a handful of songs I want to give my time to see if I enjoy even more on repeat listens but with that being said...
