Jun 29, 2025 at 12:43 PM Alright I have listened to the album about 5+ times now. I have been a massive Tech N9ne fan since Everready (2006) and have listened to every single thing he has put out. My thoughts are that this album is kinda good. I say kinda because it's pretty much ALL tech n9ne and it's a story telling album. That in itself should get you excited. Here's where we are let down, the instrumentals are incredibley generic and I mean lazy f---ing beats that have no soul to them. Strange Music is severely missing Seven (Mike Summers) who was responsible for Strange Musics peak (2009-2014) and beyond. He kept Strange music....well, Strange! Some of the chorus are also very lazy (BLACK WALT STREET!) and sound like choruses he has done before many times. The engineering is done very well as always with Strange Music and Techs voice sounds crispy AF. I'll give it a 6.5/10 Slightly Good.
Jun 30, 2025 at 10:58 AM No no no. His best best album. Not the best album put out by a artist in the last 15 years..I'm saying he fell off and this was his best attempt
Jun 30, 2025 at 12:10 PM I'm saying the same thing. This album sucks. He's put out at least 4 albums in the last 15 years that are superior.
Jun 30, 2025 at 1:37 PM Witch ones? He got to the point he put out so much music I couldn't keep up with it all. He released 22 albums 6 eps and 1 mixtape
Jun 30, 2025 at 1:54 PM All 6s and 9s, Something Else and Special Effects by far. Everything that came afterward was disappointing, but I still prefer N9NA and ASIN9NE to this new album.
Jun 30, 2025 at 2:05 PM Their newer in-house producer needs to figure out how to become more creative because Seven became a legend under Strange. The beats on 5816 sounds like some put "generic hip hop instrumental" in an AI generator
