Jul 1, 2025 at 5:10 PM i mean. delivery wise, maybe. but the content on xv is lightyears ahead of revival. nothin on revival even comes close to fine line or dve, those are top tier songs bro, there’s nothin like that on revival except maybe castle and arose and even those are redos of mmlp2 leftovers. i feel like he fell off, hard, but i feel like it was between southpaw and revival. and he didn’t start sounding like himself to me again until tdoss. that’s why i so enjoyed this album. i see it as a much needed return to form
Jul 1, 2025 at 5:26 PM Well yeah, obviously Revival is way worse than Shady XV. I’m just saying that, to me, Shady XV feels like a Stepping Stone to Revival. It’s like during and after Shady XV and Southpaw he was perfecting and evolving the dogshit style he had going and Revival was his magnum opus of dogshit. DoSS actually felt like I was listening to an Eminem album again for the first time in forever. A lot of the albums before that just felt like a clone of Eminem. Before DoSS, Relapse was the last Eminem album that actually felt like an Eminem album. Obviously albums between Relapse and DoSS had that feeling of real Eminem pop out every now and then, but it wasn’t very often. The albums from Recovery to Revival feel like a different person entirely. Then Kamikaze and MTBMB feel like another different person who is getting closer to feeling like Eminem but still not quite there yet.
