Hulk Hogan was a legend, no doubt about it. I wasn’t alive for his prime or really most of his active wrestling career in WWE probably. He wasn’t even a favorite wrestler of mine or anything like that. Even I know the pro wrestling industry might’ve never reached the heights it did without him. WWE is a juggernaut now because of people like him.

He was a pioneer and opened the doors for a lot of people. He showed people how to tell stories in the ring, how to cut promos, how to have charismatic character, etc. He is one of the people that laid the groundwork for modern wrestlers. Without him, people like The Rock and John Cena might’ve never crossed into the mainstream with movies and things of that nature. He has one of the best wrestling theme songs of all time and some of the greatest moments in wrestling. He affected a lot of people’s lives. My condolences to his family, friends, fellow wrestlers, and fans.

Hulk Hogan was just a character though. Terry Bollea is a different story. The racist things he said about black people were terrible and people are right to be mad about that and condemn him for it. Him turning full MAGA was also completely embarrassing. I’ve heard he also politicked way too much in the WWF/WWE and buried people’s careers, was over pushed, etc.

With that being said, I don’t think he deserved to die. I see people online saying he deserved to die and frankly I just find that wrong. A lot of these people I see are specifically mad about the racist things he said. People are allowed to feel how they wanna feel, and I don’t blame them for it. I hate racism as much as the next guy.

His racism was absolutely disgusting, but I think celebrating his death is also disgusting. Maybe I could understand it if he was a murderer, r--ist, pedo, etc. but I don’t think anyone deserves to die simply over the words they have said. I can’t stand these people who think they have the moral high ground while also being completely disrespectful by thinking they get to pick and choose who deserves to die over things that they said.

Anyway, rant over for now. R.I.P. Hulk Hogan
