Aug 14, 2025 Failure - Fantastic Planet I'm a really big fan of 90's alt rock, so I was excited to hop into this one from the get-go. An album that shares with a name with a 70's French Sci Fi Film, a cover that has a trio of armed spacemen guarding a rocket, and a band named "Failure"...I wasn't sure what to expect, but I sure was intrigued. I've never been the best at describing exactly what I enjoy about an albums sound aside from lyrics, but I do think that this album had a very laid back vibe, which I found quite nice. It reminded me of the softer songs on albums like Slanted and Enchanted and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. The lyrics were pretty cool, and I like the singer's voice. It was a good time overall. If I had a single criticism, it would be the fact that I wasn't as into the middle section of the record as I was with the beginning/end. Still, I had a good time with this album, and there are a few songs that I'm going to be revisiting soon. Although, while I still liked the last 2 tracks, they didn’t grab me like the rest.
