Nov 13, 2025 at 11:58 AM A genius writer, in many ways as well. Some of his funniest lines are as witty and clever as the best comedians, he's an amazing storyteller; he can describe his own and other people's perspectives very well, with beautifully select detail, when on point - his phrasing is unique; I mean, just look at the way 'Lose Yourself' is written - a mixture of brilliant rhyming, phrasing, metaphors, it's cinematic yet personal... We just take it all for granted at this point.
Nov 13, 2025 at 12:28 PM This is true. Particularly in the late 90s Eminem was funnier than most comedians I've heard. The closest he's gotten to recapturing that level of funniness was during the Relapse era but it's not even close, really.
Nov 13, 2025 at 12:35 PM I dont understand. if you mean he was the first to use profanity in his raps then that isn't true, or do you mean he was the first to diss pop stars?
Nov 13, 2025 at 10:24 PM Darkness is decent at best. It does NOT equal genius/brilliant writing. People who think that have no clue what genius and expert writing is. It is good writing. It is in no way shi--ing on the song but it doesn't deserve the credit that some losers like to give it.
Nov 14, 2025 at 3:39 AM Finding a connection between himself and the Vegas shooter is brilliant. Having the whole song seem as if he is talking about himself to then pull the rug at the end is brilliant. Demonstrating that two individuals with similar background and substance abuse can have two different outcomes is brilliant. Every line in the song fits. What would be an example of expert writing to you please?
Nov 14, 2025 at 6:06 AM It had already been done a million times before (even by himself). He just changed the theme to the Las Vegas shooter instead of it being a gun or it being “hip hop”. Using a tried and tested formula that has already been done multiple times in multiple different ways is far from genius. Quite the opposite
Nov 14, 2025 at 6:41 AM And Shakespeare wrote a play about a king, which was done a thousand times before.
Nov 14, 2025 at 7:48 AM Alcohol on my breath as I reach for the scope lol. How are people still blown away by this? And the part where he massacres the crowd isn't shocking or new at all. He already did that on Encore and it wasn't interesting even then.
Nov 14, 2025 at 12:03 PM Whats wrong with that line? And the massacre is shocking because its a real event, even includes the audio from there, and the beat nicely creshendos into it
Nov 14, 2025 at 12:55 PM There's just something about it all that feels really forced to me. Could never get into it.
Nov 17, 2025 at 11:23 PM People really confuse genius/brilliance with being amazing/phenomenal. Being a genius/brilliant has been so watered down and derogated in recent times it is sickening. You can capture genius level writing various times and still not be a genius writer. Being a genius writer is extremely rare and isn't attributed to very many individuals throughout history. It is a special category reserved for the best of the best. Em being in the category of being an amazing writer is still in a league of his own. He's one of the best amazing writers in all of music/literature. It doesn't make him a genius writer. For f---s sake...his recent work is a prime example of why his writing isn't among the levels of genius/brilliance. Genius level writers can continue that level of greatness decades into their careers which Em cannot. He's a GOAT and forever will be when it comes to music. Given the perspective, he is easily considered a GOAT. However, when it comes to writing overall, he is not. I f---ing hate the internet and you r-----ed white people with barely any knowledge at all.
